JAMES FAVORS CHURCH MERGER Pastor of U. B. Congregation Hopes for Consummation of Union. Final meetings by committees to effect a merger of the United Brethren and the Methodist Protestant churches, Involving a combined membership of 500.000, were held in Indianapolis today Jn the Claypool hotel. The action for the consolidation on the part of the Methodist Protestant church requires no further approval, but the matter will have to be left to a referendum vote of the U. B. church. If the merger is affected, the name of the church will be changed to United Protestant church. Rev. H. S. James, pastor of the , Richmond U. B. church, is heartily In favor of the proposed consolidation, and said: "I would like to see the merger brought about. Attempts have been made for the last six years to combine the two churches, and though it has not been viewed with displeasure in Indiana, the congregations of some of the churches in the east have not been in favor of It. Some new basis not yet proposed, will have to be decided upon before a union can be made. I have not discussed the matter with my congregation, but believe the members will be In favor of the merger." Your Child's Cough it a Call for Help Don't put off treating .your Child's Cough. RIDDER DOUBTS AIR ATTACK ON ENGLAND BY GERMAN FORGES

Local Germans who heard Herman Ridder, New York newspaper man and author of articles on the war which have appeared in many Journals since the outbreak of the conflict, lecture at Dayton a few evenings ago, brought home the information that this journalist does not believe Germany will attack England by air and sea. "I can see nothing but German victory," he told one of the German citizens of Richmond who met him. "Germany, up to this time, has used only 35 per cent of her men. She can continue to maintain an army of four million men in the field. The French have already summoned all the men they can get. Great Britain will never have more that 540,000 men in the field. Russia can summon many men, but she has not the facilities of equipping them and of supplying her forces with ammunition." Asked about his opinion of Secretary Bryan, Mr. Ridder answered, "You can not change the policy of an administration, but you can change the administration." No man or woman who east meat regularly can make a mistake by flushing the kidneys occasionally, says a well-known authority. Meat forms uric acid which clogs the kidney pores so they sluggishly filter or strain only ! part of the waste and poisons from the blood, then you get sick. Nearly all rheumatism, headaches, liver trouble, nervousness, constipation, dizziness, sleeplessness, bladder disorders come from sluggish kidneys. The moment you feel a dull ache in the kidneys or your back hurts, or if the urine is cloudy, offensive, full of sediment, irregular of passage or attended by a sensation of scalding, get about four ounces of Jad Salts from any reliable pharmacy and take a tablespoonful in a glas of water before breakfast for a few days and your kidneys will then act fine. This famous salts is made from the acid of grapes and lemon juice, combined with lithia and has been used for generations to flush clogged kidneys and stimulate them to activity, also to neutralize the acids in urine so it no longer causes irritation, thus ending bladder disorders. Jad Salts is inexpensive and cannot injure; makes a delightful effervescent lithia-water drink .which all regular meat eaters should take now and then to keep the kidneys clean and the blood pure, thereby avoiding serious kidney complications.
