FILING OF WAKEFIELD LEASE SHOWS MONEY HEIRS AND REID HOSPITAL GET FOR DE
A ninety-nine year lease for the Wakefield block at the northeast corner of Ninth and Main streets to Sailor street was recorded at the court house yesterday. The property is held by Hannah and George Wakefield of San Jose, Cal., as a life estate, and at their death it will be the property of Reid Memorial hospital. For that reason the signatures of the Wakefields and of John L. Rupe and B. G. McMahan for the hospital were required with those of the lessees Albert H. Brown of French Lick, and Harvey Lee Ashley of Richmond.
The lease expires January 31, 2014. It is dated February 1, 1915. According to the terms of the lease, the lessees assume virtually full ownership in the payment of taxes, making improvements and the upkeep. In return the sum of $3,500 will be paid annually until 1925, ?4,000 annually until 1935, and $5,000 annually until the expiration of the lease January 31, 2014. This money will be made a part of the Wakefield estate until the death of the Wakefields, when it will go to Reid Memorial hospital.
Offers Rivera Home to Hurt Officer

Viscountess Gladstone has loaned her Chateau of Thorenc at Cannes to Georgiana, Countess of Dudley, for the use of British officers. Lady Dudley inserted advertisements in the London papers inviting wounded officers who cared to recuperate on the Rivera to communicate with her and she has remained in England to arrange the different relays of guests to be sent south, her daughter, Lady Wolverton, taking charge at the chateau.
