The Woman's Franchie league holds market in a room in the MeGuire building. Aid society of Third Methodist church holds market in the market house. Dance in the Commercial club rooms by the Tirzah Aid society. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Kolp meet their misses' and masters' dancing class. Market by Earnest Workers' society and Loyal C. W. B. M. class of Central Christian church. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nohr meet their dancing classes in the Pythian temple. Thimble party by the King's Daughters at South Eighth Street Friends church. King's Herald Band of Grace M. E, church meets at 2:30 o'clock.
Mrs. Harry Holmes of Oberlin is the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Shiveley, South' Fourteenth street. Several Kichmond people attended the dance gien last evening by the Knights of Pythias of Centerville. The Dixon Saxophone trio played. Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Johnson have announced the engagement of their daughter, Edna Rosemary, to Mr. Leroy Simcoke of Pittsburg. Mr. Simcoke was a former resident of this city. The wedding will take place in May. The Busy Bee Thimble club met in the Kelly building Thursday afternoon. The hours were spent at needlework. A luncheon was served. Mrs. Joseph Brokamp and Mrs. Pearl Moss were hostesses. A meeting of the King's Herald Band of Grace M. E. church will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the church. Dr. Charles Bond will speak at the F'riends church, at Webster, Sunday morning on "Right Living."
A business meeting of the Aid Society of the United Brethren church was held Thursday afternoon at the church. Next Thursday Mrs. J. B. Silbert will entertain the society at tier home on North Fifteenth street. Mrs. Gilbert will tell of her trip through the south.
The New Idea Sewing circle members were entertained yesterday afternoon by Mrs. Hudson. Needlework ind social conversation were features. Refreshments were served. Mrs. Hicky will be the next hostess at her home jn the west side. Mesdames F. B. Warner, N. G. Davsnpcrt. Will Eversman, George Denny, Lewis Riefel and C. A. Riegle were hostesses yesterday afternoon when the Aid society of the Second Presbyterian church met at the church. This was the first meeting of the new rear of the church. After the usual levotional exercises and business eslion a social hour followed and a uncheon was served. The society has jeen divided into four sections. The lext regular meeting will be held the jecond Thursday in May. Mr. William Price arrived home tolay from Florida where he has been spending the winter. The 7 A and 7 B girls of Garfield ichool will entertain this evening at '.he school in honor of their parents. The orchestra will play and here will ie a program given by the children.

The Senior Luther League of Trinity Lutheran church, gave its annual fifty cent . party last evening In the basement of the church. The affair was in charge of the April social committee composed of Mesdames Willard Turner, Claude Addelman, Dr. A. Kemper, Messrs. George Fiening and William Klehfoth. The rooms were prettily decorated with flowers and ferns. The evening was spent socially and with music and games. Mrs. Charles Igelman sang several pretty numbers and Miss Edna Deuker played instrumental numbers. The vocal selections by Mrs. Lewis Stauber were Quite pleasing. After the program an elaborate luncheon in several courses was served. In the center of the table was a French basket filled with daffodils. Yellow candles in pretty holders and capped with dainty shades also appointed the table. The place cards were handpainted designs. The color scheme yellow and white was carried out in the menu. The guests Included members of the . league and invited guests.
The Eden Lodge, Daughter of Rebekahs Number 30 will not meet Saturday evening. The meeting will be held Monday evening at the usual hour. Members are asked to heed this change in days.

After the business meeting of the Woman's Relief Corps held Thursday afternoon in the Post room at the
court house, the society commemorated the fiftieth anniversary of Lee's surrender. Mrs. William Austin read a paper on the two armies and the events leading up to the surrender of General Lee. Comrades Ogborn and Markley made talks. Mrs. Minnie Webb and Mrs. Pointer sang a duet. A social hour followed. Mr. and Mrs. George E. : Sheffer pleasantly entertained a company, of friends In honor of Miss Mary Warner of Greenville, Ohio. The guests were Mr. Henry Sheffer, , Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Bonge and children of New Castle, Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Sheffer and son Orville, of Carlos City, Mr. and Mrs. W. H.
