USES NAMES OF CLUB MEMBERS
TO SELL DOMESTIC ARTS BOOK
Charging that a young man who is selling a domestic science text book is falsely, representing himself as an agent for the National Federation of Women's clnbs. and 1b using the names
of prominent club women to push the
sales of his book, leaders of the Domestic 8cience . association and the Home Economics club of the Columbian Farmers' -association, today voiced a vigorous protest against the methods of the salesman. The women assert that the salesman appears at the door and says that he is representing the Federated clubs, and has been referred to them by leading club women as being Interested in women's club work, and would like to help them In their club activities. Later he produces a copy of the book and attempts to make a sale. Sella Book. Representing that he had been sent to them individually by Mrs. A. D. Cobb, an active local worker in domestic science club work, be succeeded in selling a number of books to members of tbe Columbian Farmers' association yesterday. Later, when the women compared notes, they found he had told different stories to each of them, and had made false statements to a number. Since he had been successful in collecting in advance from some of the women, they feared that he was not reliable and took steps to prevent his further activity in the neighborhood. Mrs. Cobb today denied that she had ever given him permission to use her name in connection with the sale of the book, and said that she had forbidden him to use her name. She further said that he had told tbe country women that she had purchased a book
from him, but denied the purchase of
the book.

A MEDICINE OF MERIT.
A proprietary medicine, like every
thing else that comes beforr the pub
lie, has to prove Its merits. The law of the survival of the fittest applies In this field as In others. The reason
for the tremendous success of Lydla
E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound is because it has been fulfilling a real
human need for forty years, so that
today thousands of American women owe their health and happiness to the
marvelous power of this famous medicine, made from roots and herbs nature's remedy for woman's Ills. Adv.

Here Is Good News For Stomach Victims
SAGE TEA DARKENS
1 HAIR TO ANY SHADE fectiveness, and within twenty-four
Some very remarkable results are being obtained by treating stomach, liver and intestinal troubles with pure vegetable oils, which exert a cleaning, soothing and purifying action upon the lower bowels, removing the obstructions of poisonous fecal matter and gases and preventing their absorption by the blood. This done, the food is
allowed free passage from the stomach, fermentation ceases and stomach troubles quickly disappear. George H. Mayr, for twenty years a leading Chicago druggist, cured himself and many of his friends of stomach, liver and intestinal troubles of years' standing by this treatment, and so successful was the remedy he devised that it has since been placed in the hands of druggists all over the country, who have sold thousands of bottles. Though absolutely harmless, the effect of the medicine is sufficient to
convince any one of its remarkable ef-

.Don't Stay Qrayl Here's a Simple Recipe That Anybody Can Apply ) With a Hair Brush. The use of Sage and Sulphur for restoring faded, gray hair to its natural color dates back to grandmother's time. She used it to keep her hair beautifully dark, jjossy and abundant. Whenever her hair fell out or took on that dull, faded or streaked appearance,' this simple mixture was applied with wonderful effect. But brewing at home is mussy and out-of-date. Nowadays, by asking at any drug store for a 50 cent bottle of 'Wyeth's Sage and Sulphur Compound," you will get this famous old recipe which can be depended upon to restore natural color and beauty to the hair and is splendid for dandruff, dry. feverish, itchy scalp and falling hair. A well known down-town druggist Fays it darkens tbe hair so naturally and evenly that nobody can tell it has been applied. You simply dampen a sponge or soft brush with it and draw this through your hair, taking one strand at a time. By morning the gray hair disappears, and after another application or two, it becomes beautifully dark, glossy, soft and abundant. (Advertisement)
