"THE E8CAPE." In ' Paul Armstrong's sensational play, "The Escape," the Palace offers one of the greatest dramas ever shown

on a screen. From the opening scene in. the poverty wrecked flat to the

closing view of a home and happiness won," the picture is one of intense Interest; one that will grip.the spectator from the start and hold to the finish. "The Escape" is a photodrama written in - the belief that all men are brothers and that human beings collectively are' responsible for human beings individually. A drama of the eugenic science, showing many phases of life, from horror to " supreme happiness. It Is beyond doubt the greatest moral serm6n ever filmed. A picture that will be good for every one to see. The story deals with a girl, with high; Ideals, born' in the slums and compelled to do the bidding of a drink-crazed father and a debased brother. How she fights her way through sin, sorrow and suffering to a better life, is the basis of this masterpiece. The story while dealing closely 'with the theme is not of the white slave variety, and should not be considered In that light. The story is in seven reels and will be shown for two days only, Wednesday and Thursday. . "ALIAS JIMMY VALENTINE." On Friday. April 9, the Palace will present the five-reel photoplay, Robert Warwick In "Alias Jimmy Valentine," founded on the Liebler production of that name, which was offered to the - public five years ago. Paul Armstrong wrote the play, appropriating the idea from a story by O. Henry entitled, "A Retrieved Reputation." The plot is so plausible that when the thrills come the intensity of the effect upon you is not diminished by the fact of your having felt that they must come. , .You are placed

in suspense from the ' very moment

that , the play starts. Tou are conscious that some awful things have

got to happen before the film ends. You sit and wait and watch in silence in one of those silences that "can be felt." The story is so strong and

holding. Robert Warwick and an ef

fiicent cast interpret this strong story,

which is directed by Maurice Tour-neur.
