PRAYER NEEDED DURING REVIVAL "The kind of revival that is needed is " one that is prayed down from heaven, and not one that Is worked up on earth." said the Rev. H. C. Overman in his first sermon in the series of revival meetings at the First Baptist church last night. "God's power is Just as available for the church today as it was at Pentecost, if God's people will observe the conditions of prayerfully waiting for the- heavenly baptism of fire." The subject tonight will be -Brother After Brother." Several have applied for membership in. the church and will probably be baptized Easter.
Swat the Murderous Fly; Be Is Mankind's Arch Enemy
PSHAW! you win -say.-Flies! How absnrd! Harmless Insects of no particular importance! Now, if it should be wolves or great rats, even
Would it astonish you, would it shock you, to be told that thousands of children are slain by flies each year? Would you be aurprlsed to learn that In one dry of the United -States over 7,000 persons lost their lives from Intestinal diseases believed by certain scientists to be traceable to the "harmless Insect" that is now buzzing on your wlndowpane or against your screen door? Suppose it were solemnly stated by scientists of international repute that anterior poliomyelitis, or. infant paralysis, of which one hospital in New York alone received and treated hundreds of cases
in one recent summer, can be carried
by one of the kinds of files you pass by as of "no particular importance." What would you say then? And It is
true, every word of it Walk Into your
kitchen and observe the number of flies there. Are there a . hundred, a
thousand? You had better find a con
flagration as you open the door, for its possibilities of disaster are not much
greater, says Dr. Pease in Good House
keeping.
It is recognized that any reform
must begin with the individual and grow from him or her. The fly campaign has been successful only in a very moderate degree, because 05 per cent of the hundred million among whom we live are asleep to the danger or refuse to take it seriously. The slumbering infant, the aged parent, the romping youth, the rugged athlete, all tomorrow may be victims of the filthy pest

ILLNESS DELAYS UNDERHILL
SUIT
-Trial of Alfred .'.Underbill,, charged with having pointed a deadly weapon at John Weidenbach, a farmer,- has been definitely postponed owing to the "illness 1 of Underhili's attorney, Henry U. Johnson. The case was to have been heard in city court this morning and bright and early people began to . arrive to . witness the proceedings. By 8 o'clock the court room vas filled. The crowd was greatly disappointed when it was learned that the trial had been postponed. Some declared they had been made the victims of an "April fool" joke.
At all the Russian railway stations complaint books are kept, and passengers may enter protests.

-The smokeless nuisance Is a man R-bo swore off tobacco on the first of tbe year and who wants to tell you ill about bis sufferings. Most men do not care whether they kare the right side of an argument or lot as long as they have tbe opposite tide. When a girl has a hole In her stock tag she thinks it would be awful if an lutomoblle should run into her. Many a man breaks himself trying to make both ends meet A man would rather have his wife look fat than help her lace herself so ihe would look thinner. Mnybe a woman would travel in double harness longer if she would bridle fcer tongue. As a rule, when a man's tongue is thick his pocketbook is thin. Severe breezes uncover a multitude if shins Any honest girl can tell you that e prettiest apple Isn't always tbe -petfsr.
Starve the Fly By Sanitation IF the food supply In the locality In which be is born gives out a fly will not migrate to some other part of the city In search of food. Nature has not endowed the Insect with the power to travel great distances. Health experts who have studied the fly problem are of the opinion, therefore, that If each citizen would maintain bis premises in such a sanitary condition that flies wonld find no food there the pests would starve by the millions and, in time, would disappear altogether.

The enrollment- of the Bible Insti

and the indications are that there willbe still more by another week. Following the announcement that country
people would be welcome at all sessions of the institute, without any charges, between fifteen and twenty ' persons living outside of Richmond attended the second session of .the institute last night. President Robert L. Kelly of Earl; ham College delivered an address to 320 members. He spoke on, the sub

It was announced that the next session of the institute would be addressed by , Dr. Morton C. Pearson of Indianapolis. Dr. Pearson is the president

GRANDMA USED SAGE TEA TO DARKEN HAIR She made up a fixture of Sage Tes - and Sulphur to bring back color, gloss, thickness. Common garden sage brewed Into a heavy tea with sulphur and alcohol added, will turn gray, streaked and faded hair beautifully dark and luxuriant, remove every bit of dandruff, stop itching and falling hair. Just a few applications will prove a revelation if your hair is fading, gray or dry, scraggly and thin. Mixing the. Sage Tea and Sulphur recipe at home, though, is troublesome. .An easier way is to get the ready-to-use tonic, costing about 50 cents a large bottle at drug stores, known as "Wyeth's . Sage . and Sulphur Compound," thus avoiding a lot of muss. . " While wispy, gray, faded hair is. not sinful, we all desire to retain our youthful appearance and attractive ness. By darkening your hair with Wyeth's Sage and Sulphur.no one can tell," Tecause it' does it so naturally, so evenly. You just dampen a sponge or soft brush with it and draw thiF through your hair, taking one smal' strand at a time; by morning all gray hairs have disappeared, and, after an other application or two, your hair be comes beautifully dark, glossy, soft and luxuriant.
