SUNDAY AND MONDAY. "The Straight Road." conceded to be the master work of. the distinguished , dramatist, Clyde Fitch, is at last introduced to the motion picture public through . .the Famous Players Film Company's four- part film production of that noted subject. - "The Straight Road" is the drama of a . submerged soul's conflict and triumph. It is a drama of the city, of the alley and the avenue. The true heart of the metropolis beats throughout the production. Clyde Fitch knew the city, and the various social strata, and . in "The Straight Rpa4" be supplied a play that does not alone show the city's pavements, but that goes far beneath the surface, Into the hidden soul of New York. The drama is based on that intensely human and., modern theme, a young girl's struggles against the temptations and evils of a big city, who rises from the mire into the heights of

' THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. v Tyrone Powell, the distinguished legitimate actor, makes bis first appearance in motion ' pictures in the four-part fi)m version of the noted society drama, "Aristocracy,'- produced by the Famous Players Film company. 'Aristocracy" is a pictorial-dramatic study of society and its shams. The astonishing success of . the original stage production made the play famous throughout the world and the film production, which even enhances the power and charm of the drama, attaches an added prestige which is derived from the brilliant ability and world-wide reputation' of the star.: ; SATURDAY. "The Pride of Jennico," the celebrated romantic play by Abby ' Sage Richardson and Grace Livingston Furniss, famed as one of the greatest successes -of the American stage, is to be presented in motion pictures enacted by the Famous . Players Stock Co. Thus the theatrical history of a great success repeats itself.

THURSDAY. . Lew - Fields as a comedian of ' the

screen verifies his stage reputation in

the great five reel comedy success, "Old Dutch" : to , be . shown at the Palace next Wednesday, and Thursday. Mr. Fields is Ludwig Streusand is the

inventor of the contrivance to see the 'other end of a" telephone, which inven

tion has brought his a check for $3,000 on account from Mr. Rockmorgan. Old dutch and his daughter, (Vivian Martin) decide to have an outing an -the check, . and .hie themselves to Palm Beach,' where Old Dutch loses his wallet containing the check. It is found by a fat actor, who assume the inventor's name and receives all the glory from the . telephotophone. Old Dutcb is unable to pay his bill when requested and his daughter and himself hare to work out their board. This is where the fun begins. Old Dutch has to black shoes, wait on the table, take care of horses, etc., and his daughter becomes a helper in the kitchen, and mixes up that department very much. One thing that puts this film above all other comedies is the good, clean comedy,, as it does not depend upon vulgar slapstick situations for its fun. Old Dutch is full of laughable situation and real comedy.

EXPLOITS OF ELAINE. -, Any one who has followed this remarkable . serial realizes that only words of praise can be spoken of it. One of the most attractive features ia that while each installment has to do with the same characters each has some entirely new plot, which is complete enough in - itself to entertain those unfortunate enough to miss the other episodes. Exits through secret passages are common enough in crime pictures, but there is much originality
