At the close of foul1 innings Snavely'a men had chased forty-two runs across the plate, while the Fence vactorv men were fortunate to see home six times. lf doubtful if as large a score will be run up again by any of the teams as it Is somewhat fatiguing to circle the bases that number of times. INDIANAPOLIS. March 25. The el odus of racing stars from the -coast, where the Venice. Grand Prise ana Vanderbilt races have just been sue cessfully concluded, once more call? into the limelight the next grand iu ternational Bweepstakes race at Indt ananolis. The next contest will be the fifth of the series, each of which has been attended by greater success than its predecessor. In kind, it is thought the 1915 race will be the greatest of all. Both in the number of starters, which is scheduled to total thirty-three this year, instead of thirty, as formerly, and in attendance, which it Is figured, will reach well over the 100,000 mark, the Hoosier race is expected to sur pass its previous performances. The foreign field, It is stated, will be as good as ever, despite the war and its kindred hardships. At least three French, two English and possibly three Italian cars are expected, unless, of course, still further military complications upset the course of the latter. The French and English entries are assured. Americans, too, will battle on even terms this year, the car builders having discarded their heavy racers of last season, and built new, light, fleet machines on a par with the best of Europe.
