COLONY FARM MEN DO BULK OF WORK
Most of the farm work on the new colony farm of the Easthaven asylum is being done this spring by the patients of the colony. There are 22 men now at work, and they have accomplished a great improvement in the farm, during the winter. r Under the direction of D. W. Scott, the farm superintendent, the men 'have built fences, cleaned up briar patches, and cleared away rubbish and refuse around the barns and buildings. Most of the early plowing is being done by patients this year, and according to Mr. Scott there are three of the men on the colony farm that can handle teams of plough horses as well as any farmer, and are accomplishing a great deal of work.

AUTOMATIC TOOL RUNNING OVERTIME TO FILL ORDERS
"Is there such a thing as hard times?" is the question being, asked at the National Automatic Tool works. W. F. Bockhoff, president and general manager says the factory is running twenty-two hours a day, a twelve hour and ten hour shift. . "We are turning down orders," he said. "With 100 men working at capacity, we cannot meet the demand. May Add To Plant. "We are figuring on building an addition to the plant. These plans will not be worked out until June or July and in the meantime we do not want to raise any false hopes. I have been making inspection trips to other facte rles in Dayton, Indianapol' and other cities to get ideas. "During the past season we have been expanding on our output and have added several new machines. Our output Is taken up as fast as we turn out the machines and if this continues, there will be no doubt of making the addition." ' The tool company i3 so situated that it will be possible to make an addition of any size without being cramped for space. The buildings now in use were erected on property of the South Side Improvement association about three years ago.

NORDYKE DESCRIBES BEAUTY OF ISLANDS
Richmond Man Makes Trip to ; Nassau, Beautiful City of Bahamas.
The following has been received from M. T. Nordyke, 112 North Eighteenth street, who is wintering in the South: After traveling from one end of Florida to the other, we went aboard the boat, Miami, at Miami, and enjoyed a fine sea voyage to Nassau in the Bahamas. Nassau Is a quaint old city of eleven or twelve thousand, on the island, about one-fifth ot whom are white. The city is very interesting vith Its old-style English architecture, stone streets, kept very clean. It woula make Richmond ashamed of Itself to see the clean streets of Nassau. The island is almost all rock, but pineapples and orahge tree grow in abundance right out of the rock. The greater part of the old forts are cut out of the rock, one winding stairway going down thirty-two steps in solid rock then off to a dungeon. In another part a well eighty feet deep has been sunk from the top of the fort. We could see the race track and the golf course. The race track has a mile track. They have racing every Friday afternoon, all business closing up, making a regular holiday. We could not even find a drug store open on Friday. The sea gardens are a wonder. We went out in a small boat and used a bucket with a glass bottom. We could see plainly in twenty or thirty feet of water. M. T. NORDYKE.
