OWNERS MEET TO MAKE KICK ON PAVEMENT
At a meeting of North A street property owners and owners of property living on abutting streets within 150 feet of North A" stret, to be "held this evening at the Commercial club, it is planned to draft a vigorous protest against the permanent improvement of that street, for presentation to council next Monday evening. There is an ordinance pending in council now for the paving of that street and It will come up for second reading next Monday night: Possibly it will also have third; reading under suspension of the rules and the vote for its adoption or rejection taken. ' The resolution for the improvement of North A street was remonstrated out of the jurisdiction of the board of public works, which then referred the question to council for final action. ' North A street property owners hope to influence council to defeat the improvement but indications are that eleven of the twelve councilmen are staunch advocates of the permanent Improvement program, who realize that the defeat of this ordinance would mean a Waterloo for the entire program.
