DRUIDS RECEIVING MANY APPLIC ATIONS
Ten applications were received and ten candidates were ' given the first degree at the regular meeting of Richmond Grove of Druids last night. This makes a total of forty applications received during the dispensation, which was granted February 15, 1915, and continues tintil April 15. The members have set one hundred as the mark expected to be reached before the expiration of the dispensation. After the work last night lunch was served.
MEMBERS CRITICISE MERCHANTS' SECTION George Seidel and Charles Jordan Cite Decline of Cooperation. Mcrohanta section of the Commercial club was criticised last night and speaker suggested that the organisation make efforts to increase its activities and its vigilance In detecting spurious and unsanctioned advertising schemes for which merchants have been sollcted In the past few months. Oeo. Beldel, delivering his report as president of the Commercial club, said he believed the mechants section was not doing all it could In protecting its members. The spirit of co-operation which caused the organization of the section Is not dominant. Charles W. Jordan, giving his farewell address as secretary, hinted that although the section holds regular meetings, the spirit is lost and a rejuvenation Is needed to . restore the organization to itB original efficiency.
