EAGER OF SIGNAL TO PLAY TEAMS ARRIVE FOR
PLAYERS AWAIT GALL TO ENTER DISTRICT FIGHT Sixty-Three Trained Athletes Representing Eight High Schools Arrive for Opening of Tournament. CAPTAINS CONFIDENT Newcastle and Rushville Newspapers Take Last Fling at Nohr's Men Before Teams Leave Home. Sixty-three high school athletes are awaiting their turns to battle for the right to represent the Sixth district in the state high school basketball tournament at Indiana. university next week. With little fear of the story that will be recorded after the final game at the Coliseum Saturday night, captains and coaches are confident that their teams will make a good showing. New Castle, touted as winner by sport writers over the district, is coming with an 'it's-all-over-but-the-shouting" attitude. Watch Porter's Five. Porter's Richmond team, doped to place second, has not sent out any bear stories, but instead the boys have been romping around the Coliseum floor like world-beaters. The way they have been shooting baskets and passing the ball bodes evil for their opponents all along the line. Peeved, because she has been classed as a was-oncer, Rushville is clamoring for recognition and asserting that Richmond will never get to the finals. Rushville, by the way, is one of tus stumbling blocks that the men who framed the schedule place between Richmond and the district honors. Rushville says: "Richmond and New Castle papers can see only Richmond and New Castle fighting it out in the final game, but Rushville supporters believe their team will fight it out, and that it will be with either New Castle or Brookville." It seems that the man who concocted Rushville's dope chucked Richmond somewhere. What he did with the local team might prove an interesting 6equel to the "Million Dollar Mystery." New Castle Gives Tip. Fearing that the play between Nev Castle and Richmond in the finals may be a little one-sided, New Castle drop.? Coach Nohr's men a nice tip. The Courier suggests that if Richmond had spent less time trying to get Gordon's goat, Kampe would not have defeated them in the last game. It is alleged that Richmond is laying plans to get Kampe. Coach Nohr's men extend thanks for the suggestions, but announce that they are out to get the whole team. Hagerstown and Brookville have remained perfectly quiet, but have been looking at each other's throats with the sa me passionat e longing with which one of the kaiser's men regards a Russian. Although doped completely out of the contest, Connersville intends to make New Castle's road a rough one tonight. Cadiz, Mooreland and the other contestants are not journeying to Richmond for the honor of being defeated, if they can prevent it. SEEDINGS INCREASE AVERAGE ONE POINT A. S. M. LEAGUE. Won. Lost. Another polo team has announced its organization and is open for games with the -best the state affords. Sox Quigley is the organizer of the outfit having 6igned five of the returned stars who have been playing in the east, to stage exhibition games. Included on Sox's team is Thompson, who is considered the premier rusher of the world. Thompson lives at Webster, and played with the City league some years ago. Red Williams of Elwood, will be lined up at first rush, Thompson, second; Sox, center; Griffith, halfback, and Pence, goal. Sox's Fall River team in the Eastern League came out champions, taking a wonderful brace after he joined, and pulled out in handsome style. Up to the time of his reporting the team had won but three games and lost ten. Barney Doherty played halfback for Fall River, and Sox says he is faster than ever.

From then on practically every train and interurban car carried visiting teams and their followers. By 8 o'clock every team will be In the city and those not . scheduled to play tonight will be on hand to witness the battles between the Mooreland and Rushville fives and Connersville and New Castle. From three hundred to five hundred visiting students are expected to witness the games. Connersville Arrives. Connersville will reach the city at 4 o'clock on the interurban.. New Castle, Cadiz and Mooreland will also arrive at this time on the Pennsylvania. Hagerstown gets in at 6:30 o'clock and Brookville will be the last team to arrive on the C. & O. at 8 o'clock. Guides appointed from the student body of the high school will meet the teams and take them to the high school for registration. Dollins and G. Grimes will take care of the New Castle team; T. Hafner for Hagerstown; E. Loehr and E. Porter for Rushville; W. Tomlinson for Cadiz; W. O'Neal and Rost for Mooreland, and William Dean and T. Jessup for Connersville. The mass meeting this morning to arouse enthusiasm was one grand success. The students had complete charge of the affair and everything went off without a hitch. Talks by members of the team .Principal Pickell, Coach Nohr and Manager Maier helped to instill more courage and strong hope in the hearts of the players and rooters. The talks given by the team members were as follows: "We are going into this tournament with the idea of winning and believe that we are going to do it." Little Mascot Talks. Happy Ward, the mascot, also had a word to say which brought down the house. Happy's words were, "I'm with the team." Bob Phillips, yell leader, got away with some mighty clever dope and his work at the games will be a feature. Coach Nohr told the students that the team had practiced faithfully for these games and had been training as no high school team had ever done before, and that if Richmond did not win she would be right up around the top at the finish. Principal Pickell compared Clarence Porter, captain, to Napoleon Bonaparte, as the little corporal, explaining that the little people were the ones to accomplish things and that he was sure the little captain would get the best work out of his men. "Clean sport is what we want, boys, and we are expecting to have that and win besides," he said. Manager Maier's versions of the team's possibilites, was that taking the team right from the start, when it was made up of green material for the most part, that it had done fairly well this season, playing a consistent game and that it was especially primed for this event. A short practice on yells and songs was indulged in and showed that all voices were in good form. The girls did the song part with the boys giving vent to their feeling in strong bass notes. After the meeting, Nohr, to be sure that his men would be "right," took them to the Coliseum for a short practice on goal tossing. GUIDE TO EVENTS IN SPORT WORLD FRIDAY. Bowling. I. H. C. vs. A. S. A. S. M. 4; Muncle, 0. Once more Muncle came, looked around, plaeyd polo, and went back to Muncie with a shut-out. The Seeders did the trick, pouncing on Campbell's men soon after they had taken the floor, and showing them how things were done in Richmond, soon had Fahrner, Edington and crew skating around the floor helplessly. Muncie put up a poor exhibition of polo, and but for the fighting in the last period one could accuse them of laying down. It got so bad in the second period that cries of "Help!" could be heard all over the building. The period was played with four men on a side, Fletcher going out because of a broken skate, and Quigley laying out to make things equal. Lefty Bulla helped out the visitors In the third period, but even that did not seem to help things much, and Muncie still held the nothing end of the score. Quigley did the scoring in the first period, putting two behind Poland in 7:56 and 5:24, respectively. The Seeders scored their other two in the second period, Quigley getting a lucky one in 1:28. Fry took a pretty assist from Lou and made the score four. Neither side could do anything in the scoring line in the final period, vs the driving and tossing was wild, with very few shots going toward the goal. Seeders. R. G. A. F. S. Keystones, 3; Kandyankles, 1. "All hands on floor," said Petey Kampe and away they went with the Kandyankles getting the start In the curtain raiser to the Seeder-Muncie game. From a standpoint of amusement this game had the Muncte-Rich-mond game backed completely off the boards, especially in the third period, when things began to happen and continued happening until the gong put a stop to the self-inflicted punishment. Lefy Craig and Kampe must of had a pillow sticking around somewhere, as they tried about everv Knot on the floor. Tommy "Houston" Davis electnnea tne audience with his skillful manipulation of his flops , several times running three yards at a time without once having to get up on his rollers. "Musty" McCarthy also showed to good advantage in this stunt. George "Shorty" Williams in the Kandyankle goal, really put up a clever exhibition of goal tending, coming in for his share of applause. But, Oh, how George labored going from one cage to another. Miller scored the only marker for the Kandyankles, while "Speed'em" Taggart and Kampe made the Keystone tallies. As a specialist who has spent many years in the study and treatment of stomach trouble. I have been forced to the conclusion that most people who complain of stomach trouble possess stomachs that are absolutely healthy and normal. The real trouble, that which causes all the pain and difficulty, is excessive acid in the stomach, aggravated by food fermentation.. Hyperacidity irritates the delicate lining of the stomach and food fermentation causes wind which distends the stomach abnormally, causing that full bloated feeling. Thus both acid and fermentation Interfere with and retard the process of digestion. The stomach is usually healthy and normal, but irritated almost past enduibnce by these foreign elements acid and wind. In all such cases and they comprise over 90 per cent of all stomach difficulties the first and only step necessary is t neutralize the acid and stop the fermentation by taking in a little warm or cold water Immediately after eating, from one to two teaspoonfuls of bisurated magnesia, which is doubtless the best and only really effective antacid and food corrective known. The acid will be neutralized and the fermentation stopped olmost instantly, and your stomach will at once proceed to digest the food in a healthy, normal manner. Be sure to ask your druggist for the bisurated magnesia, as I have found other forms utterly lacking in its peculiarly valuable properties. F. J. G. Adv. Carl F. Weisbrod Piano Tuning and Repairing.
