S. A. L. GRANTS STARR FACTORY LEAGUE BERTH Directors Allow Sam Vigran to Take Over Management of Dille-McGuire Team as Vigrans. POSSIBLE S. A. L. TEAMS. Ad-Hill, A. S. M., Panhadles, Vigrans, Natco, Easthaven, Starrs and Bethards. Saturday Afternoon League baseball

will enjoy a healthy growth this year if the enthusiasm displayed at the first annual meeting of the directors last night is any criterion. Six teams

which held franchises in the league last year will renew them, while the

Starrs and Bethards will probably take

places of the Wayne Works and the Robinsons. Election of executive officers was delayed until March 9, so the two new teams will have a chance to vote. Hoggy Lucas represented the AdHill combination, Ulrich the A. S. M., Drischel Panhandles, Winsett DllleMcGuire, Puckett Natco, Shaw Easthaven. Tries to Resign. Mr. Puckett, treasurer and manager of the Natcos, tried to hand in his resignation, but there was nothing doing. Swayne-Roblnson sent in a written communication that the factory would not be represented. The Wayne Works did not answer their summons to the meeting, so their franchise was declared forfeited. At the last minute the Dille-McGuire combination, which had been expecting the factory to back the team, was disappointed. Ed Lichtenfels of the Starr Piano company, was the first to make application for a new franchise. Although Mr. Lichtenfels could not state whether the company would back the team or not, he was granted a franchise pending the decision of Mr. Gennett, who is on his way to California. Sam Vigran took over the franchise formerly held by the Dille-McGuire team, and will change the name of the team to the Vigrans. Dykeman Suggests Bethard. Pull of pep, Lee Dykeman, manager of the Wayne Works nine, breezed into the meeting an hour and a half late. He announced that he might be able to get Fred Bethard to back a team, in which case the league decided to let him draw players from the old Wayne Works nine. Bethard was once star twirler for the Lake Forest university team. Action on the application of Captain Bridget for a franchise for the Grays, was postponed. It Is understood that the line-up proposed by Bridgett contains stars from a number of the shop teams, which would disorganize the league. As players may not join another team unless released, the league will investigate the charges against the Grays. Sam Vigran and Ray Stevens will re-write the constitution, while John Ulrich and Lee Dykeman will arrange the schedule. To Start Play In April. The league has made application and been accepted as a member of the National Amateur Baseball association, providing the necessary forfeit is posted. Lee E. Patterson, president of Collier's, offered a $1,000 cup for the winners of the championship. This year it is worth a whole season's hard work to win honors in different sections, as the teams will be given a trip to the Panama exposition this fall with all expenses paid by the Exposition company. Acceptance of membership In the Amateur association was postponed. It is aimed, providing everything goes right, to start the league ball rolling the last Saturday in April. This would give each team three games with every other team in the league.

NEWCASTLE FIVE EXPECTS TO SEE R. H. S. IN FINAL

By FRANCIS HAMILTON, Sporting Editor New Castle Courier. NEWCASTLE. Ind., March 3. The Newcastle high school basketball team, which will meet the fast Connersville quintet in the first game of the elimination series in the district basketball tournament at Richmond Friday and Saturday, has been putting in the past three days with hard practice. The team has had three nights of practice, taking up most of the time with perfecting team work and trying out the signal plays against the second squad. The team has not been taking much scrimmage practice, as no chances are being run of any injury before the meet, as was the case last spring, when the two stellar guards were both injured. The plans for the' play have been carefully worked out by Coach Morrow and Captain Lawson and the focal team expect to be in the final game, battling with Richmond for the honors of the district. The local players, however, expects the Brookville squad to give them a harder fight than any team in the district.

Stomach Troubles Due to Acidity 80 8AYS EMINENT SPECIALIST. . So-called stomach troubles, such as indigestion, wind, and stomach ache are in probably nine cases out of ten Bimply evidence that fermentation Is taking place In the food contents of the stomach, causing the formation of gas and acids, wind distends the stomach and causes that full, oppressive feeling sometimes known as heartburn, while the acid irritates and inflames the delicate - lining - of the stomach. The trouble lies entirely in the fermenting food. Such fermentation is unnatural, and acid formation is not only unnatural, but mar Involve most serious consequences if not corrected. To stop o prevent fermentation of the food contents of the stomach and to neutralize the acid, and render it bland and harmless, a teaspoonful of bisurated magnesia, probably the best and most effective corrector of acid stomach known, should be taken in a quarter of a glass of hot or cold water immediately after eating, or whenever wind or acidity is felt. This stops the fermentation and neutralizes the acidity In a few minutes. Fermentation, wind "and acidity are dangerous and unnecessary. Stop or prevent them by the use of a proper antacid, such as bisurated magnesia, which can be obtained from any druggist, and thus enable the stomach to do its work properly without being hindered by poisonous gas and dangerous acids.
