STAR OF OTHER DAYS
DRAWS HIS RELEASE
Two games are scheduled tonight at ' the Coliseum, the first an exhibition
frame between the Greeks ana tne j Smokes, while the second will be a clash between Teddy Lewis' Indianapolis Em-Roes and Link Williams' A. S. M. fighting five. Teddy is coming with his "big stick" all trimmed up and is expected to do some tall shooting. Fans welcome this team, as they consider it the strongest traveling team that visits this city, and from the advance sale of seats promises to fill the Coliseum. It 13 the desire of the Seeders to annex this game to their already long list, and the local boys will be out there giving the visitors the best that is in them. Promises Closer Game. The game should be a little closer than on the previous visit of the Capital City five, as they will be stacked up against a heavier defense. Taking the two teams man for man it is hard to dope out anything in favor of one or the other with the possible exception of second rush, where Lewis is conceded the better of the argument with any team playing in the west.. At first rush Quigley has the bulge on lK)ng, not as a floor worker, but in his
ability to make goals.

If you are anxious, to acquire perfect health you are advised to abjure the doctor's pills and try bowling or billiard balls instead. It has been discovered that pool and bowling are excellent for the health. Poolrooms, once regarded as the habitat of indolent and graceless youths, are coming to be known as health resorts for the sickly and Genomic. A fast and thrilling game of pool stimulates the heart, builds up the tissues and brings the flush of perfect
health to any cheek, however pallid. The day will come, declare the physical culture experts, when the frail human wreck will be seen to enter a pool parlor, emerging a few hours later after several stirring games, with head erect and vigor in his step. In extreme cases a pool table in the home would be the thing. Shoot the balls around a bit and eat a hearty meal. A game of Kelly pool before retiring would Insure unbroken repose.. Children should be taught it in the cradle
and mothers need worry about colic and the croup. So it Is with bowling. Aside from the improved health which it will bring there will be a great improvement in your figure. If you are remarkably thin or horribly fat, bowling will correct that. For this reason it is rec
ommended to women. All women who feel some little dissatisfaction with their present figure may surprise and delight any husband they may have by frequent attendance at the bowling alleys.

BY FRANK G. MENKE. Sporting Editor, International News Service. NEW YORK, Feb. 8. Golf, if you care to know it, has delivered the coffers of the big league magnates ta harder wallop than the general business depression, the European war or any of the other causes given for the falling off in the 1914 ball game attendance. Golf is weaning the folks away from baseball. Ten years ago even three years ago there weren't many golfers. The golf devotees numbered probably 5,000 or 10,000 fifteen years ago. The estimates of the golfers in the United States today range up to 1,000,000 (one million). In other years when the American business man could tear himself away from his regular chores during the summer time he would hustle out to the ball parks. Now the one time fan who is a golfer skids past the ball park and hustles out to the links so as to get in 18 holes before sundown.

Let Them Jump
Explains Ebbetts
BY LEASED WIRE. NEW YORK, Feb. 8. Any member of the Brooklyn Dodgers who wants to jump to the Federals can do so. Charles H. Ebbetts, owner of the club, said today that he wouldn't make any further effort to keep his men in line by out-bidding the Federals. "I've grown tired of coddling the players," said Ebbets, "and submitting to their hold-up tactics. All last season I trier! to keep my players in line by meeting the Federal League offers. That has cost me a lot of money. "The whole gang can jump,, if it wants to. They can't gouge me for another dollars. Salaries have been boosted far beyond proportion. Every dollar being made in baseball is going to the players these days."
