Kennet Heck Receives Letter From Martha Bonnet Praising Kind Hearted Americans for Relief.

NEW PARIS. O.. Feb. 3. Several months ago a box of clothing and toys was Bent to Belgium from New Paris on the Christmas ship and all doubt as to whether it reached its destination was removed when Master Kenneth Heck received a letter from a little French maid who received a package in which he enclosed his name and address. The letter was as follows: Dear Friend: Thank you so much for your little Rift. Tou havj a good heart. Many people are in a great distress because terrible war and we have happy to see that America is feeling for our troubles. Your indebted French friend, MARTHA BONNET. DISLIKES FUND PLEA Supt. Giles Opposes Canvass Through Schools. Superintendent J. T. Qiles has received a letter from State Superintendent Charles A. Greathouse, asking the Richmond schools to join in a statewide movement to raise a Lincoln memorial fund on Lincoln's birthday to aid in the work of the American Red Cross. Mr. Giles said today that he was not in favor of soliciting funds for any purpose through the schools, but as there seems to be an unusual need for assistance in the work of the Red Cross at this time, he would refer the matter to the school board.

UNIONS TO PUBLISH LABOR PERIODICAL

WHITEWATER LODGE TO HOLD ROLL CALL

The ninth annual roll call of Whitewater lodge of Odd Fellows will be held February 12. The affair will be so well attended by members that it will be restricted to the members, and no outside guests will be invited. There will be music and short talks. The secretary will make his annual review of the year's activities. This is expected to show a big increase In the amount of charity and sick benefits given.

Harrison, Dieckman and Kirk Serve on Committee for Publication. A weekly paper to be called the Richmond Labor Herald will be issued by the Trades Council, acording to a vote of members of the organization last night. The committee in charge is composed of L. C. Harrison, C. E. Dieckman and Charles L. Kirk. The firBt publication will be next Friday, and the issue will be distributed free to union men and to most of the laboring people of the city. The purpose of the paper is to print labor news, give labor conditions from the standpoint of laboring men and members of the labor unions, and to" advance the interests of the unions.

GILES leads; study Will Speak, .at National School Meeting. x Superintendent J. T. Giles of the city schools will take part in the discussion of school problems at; a conference of the national superintendents' department of the National Education' association which will be held in Cincinnati Februray 22 to 26. This will be one of the largest gatherings of educators held in the country and prominent teachers from all over the United States will be present and take part in the program. Mr. Giles will take part Thursday, February 25, at a meeting of superintendents from cities having less than 25,000 population.

Howard Campbell, Cldye Ashman, Russell Miller, Cecil White, Frank Hawley, Forrest McGilL Howard Hodgin, Henry MMler, Fred Burtch, Emmett Harris and Ben Richards.

NEW PARIS REVIVAL ATTRACTS AUDIENCES NEW PARIS, O., Feb. 3. The revival which has been in progress the last two weeks at the Methodist church has been well attended despite the inclemency of the weather. The pastor, Rev. E. Kneisley, has been assisted by Prof. Elbert Russell of Richmond, Rev. Ruth E. Hemphill and Rev. Stegall of Westville. On Sunday afternoon Prof. Russell addressed the men's meetings. The meetings will continue this week.
