When I Say I am Through.

That Ends It," Fort Wayne Senator Informs Leaders of Party.

BY LEASED WIRE. INDIANAPOLIS. Jan. 28. State Senator Stephen B. Fleming of Fort Wayne, although he refused to make a statement for publication, made it plain to newspapermen today that he would not reconsider his action of yesterday afternoon, when he resigned from the senate. Fleming informed a number of Democratic politicians and several labor leaders that his action was final, declaring, "When I say I am through, that ends it. When I find I can not perform my legislative duties without guidance, I am done with them." Senator Fleming planned to attend

to some private business here

today, and said he would leave for his home this afternoon. Governor Ralston was waiting word from Adams and Allen counties as to whether the people there desired a special election to choose Senator 'Fleming's sucessor, or whether they desire that the Governor appoint some one to fill his unexpired term.

CHIROPRACTORS SEEK LEGISLATIVE ACTION

Present Bill to General Assembly Assuring Public of Competent Practitioners. In a communication to The Palladium from Judge Dunten of Lagrange, attention is called to a bill Introduced in the Indiana legislature fixing the standard for chiropractic practice. A majority report of the house rights and privileges committees reported favorably on the measure. The bill will elevate the profession and give the public the assurance that chiropractice is in the hands of competent men, with established training and experience. Judge Dunten says the science of chiropractice has won a professional standing In the nation. No medicine is prescribed. The chiropractors by hand work and adjustments of the human body and its divisions seek to perfect the joints and spinal column so as to give the nervous system free action and effect. The results are pronounced and as the nervous action is perfected cures are affected. Many people enjoy the blessings of chiropractice and the desire Is to place the practice beyond the reach of incompetents to give it professional status. Richmond has three practloners and many persons have had their bodily ailments cured by the local practioners. It is expected that the Indiana legislature will pass the chiropractors bill.
