GAZELLE TORPEDOED BERLIN ANNOUNCES Receives Slight Damage and Returns . Safely to Eastern Sea Harbor. BY LEASED WIRE. BERLIN. Jan. 27 (By Wireless). Official announcement was made today that the German cruiser Gazelle was torpedoed January 25 near the Island of Rugen in the Baltic Sea. While the statement does not say so, it is believed that the Gazelle was attacked by a Russian submarine or torpedo boat. The statement follows: "According to reliable information, the small cruiser-Gaaelle was torpedoed January 25 near Rugen. It suffercd slight damage and has arrived at ' an eastern harbor. There was no loss or life." The Gazelle carries a crew of 264 men.

Crown Orchestra Talented Musicians of High to Perhaps one of the most unique musical organizations in the state is the high school orchestra, when you stop to consider that it embraces all the instruments of symphony orchestra, even to oboes and tympani as the fol-! lowing membership list shows. The class of music studied by the boys and girls is of a very high standard. Last year the orchestra played such numbers as Hayden's Surprise Symphony, the William Tell Overture, and many other concert, numbers. This year Mozart's E flat Symphonie, and Greig's "Peer Gynt Suite" are being studied. Enriches Community Music. Last spring when the orchestra played for the state teachers meeting i in Indianapolis, they called upon Governor Rals'on. In his-address to Mr. Sloane and his orchestra he asked, "How many of you young people enrich the home life and church service with your music?" He was more than pleased when he learned that practically nil were members of some church orchestra, and he congratulati ed thorn upon same. Weyer was laid on the operating table at the German American hospital today.
