QUIGLEY DRIVES BALL INTO GAGE IN GREAT STYLE Abel Breaki Up Passing of Fahrner tnd Fletcher OTOcts Handles Stops Without Making Bobbles. A. 8, M t; Muncis, 1. Smoke, t; Quigleys, 4. White Muncle showed Improved form ovsr the double-header here New Your day, the gam last night was uot a clean-out as It should have been, w &Ich cava the victory to the Seeders by the score, of to 1. The ability of Qutgley to hit the cage was the big feature. The defease of the Seeders was also an Important Item, the work of Abel standing out. Ernie was all over the floor right from the beginning, and the way he broke op the plays of Fahrner and Fletcher, speedy visiting rushers, was good to look upon. Time after time he stopped both of them and took the ball to within a few yards of the visitors' goal and feed it to the local rushers. O'Meta also showed some clever tuff, being called upon frequently to leave his cage and go out and block the speedy Fahrner. Not once did he fall.
Fletcher and Coffin were perhaps the two stars for the visitors, and worked their hardest all throughh the game, the first named giving IDvans no end of trouble, while Coffin, the youngster drafted from the ranks of the Muncle City league, played a stellar gams all the way through, especially In the last period, when he played the defense alone owing to the blow, tag of Bdingtoa's "cork." Qulgley starts Fast. Qutsloy started the scoring shortly after the beglning of the game when ho came from behind the cage, hooking the pill over Coffin's outstretched foot and nailing one in the corner. Winning the next rush, he carried the ball to within five yards of Poland and landed the ball behind the Muncle guardian for the second score in four seconds. Not content with this Lou cored again before the period was over, making the Seedes' total three to Muncles' nothing. The second period was a game of "horse," every player riding his opponent. The third period was perhaps the best of the game, Qulgley scoring twice. The first was on an assist from Pry, who made the last count for the K. 8. M. Fletcher scored from Muncie when he and Fahrner got past the de'epse. Fletcher hooked it behind D'Mets when he Jumped for I ahrner. The Muncle team was entertained by the Entre Nous club after the game. Bayer Qets Trial. The Smokes-Qulgley game was full of pep from the beginning to the last with both teams passing the ball back and forth, playing the game as it should be played. George Bayer started for the 8mokes, playing one period, and giving a good account of himself. It was the longest workout this player has enjoyed so far this season, and he helped the Smokes' attack considerably, making the first score of the game when he got Snaveley alone and tossed one behind this good goal guardian. Red Marine worked out at flrs$ rush for the Quigleys, and while making but one goal was a great help to his team, passing the ball with telling effect. Red made the last rally of the game, when he scooped a beauty behind Oeyer on a hard driven ball by Reid. Dink Minor had a nice little golf game all by his lonesome in the second period when he placed the pill upon the tee and landed one way up in the rafters. The Smokes really won the game in the first and Becond periods, when they totaled four, Bayer and Clark scoring In the first, and Geyer and Oestlng in the second. Reid, Haughton, Minor and Marine scored for the Pharmacists In the last period, while Clark and Shallenberg were doing likewise for the Smokes. Motor Sleigh
36 Miles an Hour on Country Roads
Before long you-may see horseless sleigh gliding",, along; North A steet, shooting around curves in Glen Miller, speeding along the National Road and penetrating the snow-covered roads of Wayne county. It's here the horseless sleigh, or the motor sleigh, it might be called. Harvey A. Beilgard, of Chicago, has perfected the new sleigh. It Is propelled much the same way as an eroplane, or more like a hydro-aeroplane, which skids across the water. Thirtyfive miles an hour, is the speed which the new vehicle has attained. A big propeller attached to the rear of the sleigh provides the speed, and an engine borrowed from an automobile gives the driving power. A. S. M. TAKES WHOLE SERIES FROM I. H. C. George H. Mayr, for twenty years a leading Chicago druggist, cured himself and many of his friends of stomach, liver and intestinal troubles of year's standing by this treatment, and son successful was this remedy he devised that it has since been placed in the hands of druggists all over the country, who have sold thousands of bottles. Though absolutely harmless, the effect of the medicine is sufficient to convince any one of its remarkable effectiveness, and within 24 hours the sr.fferer feels like a new person. Practical Prescription Against Stomach Aciditv Nine-tenths of all cases of stomach trouble nowadays are oaused by too much acid. In the beginning the stomach itself is not diseased but if this acid condition Is allowed to continue, the acid is very likely to eat into the stomach walls and produce stomach ulcers which may render a radical surgical operation necessary even to prolong life. Therefore, an acid stomach" Is really a dangerous condition and should be treated seriously, it la utterly useless to take " pepsin and ordinary stomach tablets. The excess add or stomach hyperacid! tty must be neutralized by the administration of an efficient antacid. For this purpose the best remedy Is blsurated magnesia taken in teaspoonful doses in a fourth of a glass of water after each meal. Larger quantities may be used If necessary as It Is absolutely harmless. Be sure to ask your druggist for the blsurated mag. nesia as other forma of imni, j make effective mouth washes but they nave not tne same action on th i stomach as the blsurated. adv.
