Henby and Mrs. Ophelia Shults. In the absence of the latter, Mrs. J. W. Marson read the paper. This was followed by the subject, "Ethical Basis of Christianity," presented by Mrs. Willard Petro and Miss Eva Toms. The different papers, each Illustrative of a certain phase of the subject, tended to show the love of Christ and the brotherhood of man. Mrs. W. H; Doney gave a review of W. MANCHESTER, O. Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Howell and daughter were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ley Howell. Mr. and Mrs. Verto McGriff entertained her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. CASE Cambridge "The Call of the Carpenter," characterizing the book especially from the standpoint of spirituality and militarism, and said, "If we accept this book we can not accept the Bible." Mrs. Doney also called attention to a criticism of the book which was published in the Palladium some time ago. Mrs. R. D. Steele and Miss Louise Ebert spent Tuesday in Richmond. The lecture given Monday evening in the Christian church by Dr. Clark on "Astronomy," was one of unusual interest and well repaid those who braved the storm to hear it. Rev.
