New Paris Citizens Har Richmond Celebration Above Music of Band. NEW PARIS, Jan. 2. The new year .vas ushered in here noisily. At 11:30 p. in. the New Paris band gave a concert on the public square, followed by the ringing of the church bells. Numerous watch parties were held and much merriment prevailed. The M. E. Epworth league held a natch party at the home of Miss Lejna Smith; the Grange held a supper nd watch party at Grange hall at which an enigma supper was held. Russell MHler gave a watch-dance party at the opera house, which was largely attended by both the older and '.he younger sets. Aker and Thurston, iano and drums, furnished the music. The New Paris band enjoyed a soial evening at the club rooms, where in elaborate supper was served, prewired entirely by members of the or:anization. The rooms were prettily : locorated for the occasion. Added to the noise, and din locally, he sound of whistles at Richmond iiuld be plainly heard.
