A brilliant social function and one which will be remembered for some time to come by many persons who attended it was the elaborate ball given hist evening in the Bythian Temple by the social committee of the Beta Bhl i Sigma fraternity composed of Messrs. ; John Thompson, Howard Hunt. WalkerLand and Oscar Weyman. The fraternity colors black and gold were , utilized in decorating the ball room. Strands of the ribbons were brought from the four corners of the room and , fastened to the center by the means of a large snow ball. Hanging from the snowball were myriads of ribbons ; and later all the girls in the party 1 secured a string and when the ball was pulled out popped a number of small ( snowballs. These were numbered and ! corresponded to the numbers on the men's programs and partners were secured in this way for one of the dances. Several other novel and interesting features were introduced during the evening. At one side of the hall was a large Christmas tree adorned with musical toys and' other gifts and each person present received a pretty keepsake and when all the musical toys had been distributed the affair resolved Itself Into a regular frolic. The Hick's orchestra played the order of dances. The orchestra was stationed on the platform to the fast side of the hall. For those who did not care for dancing there was card playing. The programs were in the form of a booklet and were done in black and gold. On the outside of the coverlet was engraved, "Beta Bill Sigma."
