CHURCHES HOLD SERVICES TO GREET CHRIST CHILD

Special choir music and solo work will featuro the church programs tomorrow. Choirs have been practicing the Christmas music for some time and it will be one of the big musical days of the year. Several of the churchs will have o o'clock services tomorrow morning. The Christmas day will be greeted by members of the St. Mary's Catholic church with a midnight mass. At ST. ANDREW'S. St. Andrew's Catholic church will celebrate Christmas at four services, beginning with a high mass at 5 o'clock in the morning. The program for the day is as follows: High Mass at 5 a. m. Propers of the Mass, Tozer; Stehle's Mass. Mass, 6 a. m. "Hark, What Means Those Angel Voices?"; Magnificat; Adoremus; Silent Night; Holy Night. Mass, 7:30 a. m. Christmas Carols by the Children. High Mass, 10:30 a. m. "Oh Come All Ye Faithful," tenor solo and quartet; Proper of the Mass, Tozer; Kyrie, Wiengand; Gloria, Weingand; Veni Creator, Werner; Sermon; Credo, Gruberski; Sanctus, Wiengand; Benedictus, Gounod; Angue Dei, Witt. Christmas morning at 7 o'clock the Young Girls' choir of the St. Mary's Catholic church will present a Christmas program at the service. The choir has been under the direction of the Sisters and promises to furnish some beautiful music. Miss Lucile Carney will be at the organ and Miss Blanch Luken, violinist, will assist. The church has been artistically decorated for the Christmas season. The program follows: Hymn, "Hail Manuel the Mighty" Girls' Choir. Hymn, "Come. LEARNER LEAVES. Secretary Ellis M. Learner, of the Y. M. C, A, and his family left today to spend the Christmas holidavs with his parents at Kokomo, Ind. During his absence, his assistant Ora A. Hughbanks will conduct the management of the association.

County Deaths

HAOERSTOWN Mrs. N. F. Canaday, wife of Dr. Canaday, died last night after a short illness of a complication of diseases. She was 66 years old. The husband and a son. Dr. Clifford E. Canaday, of New Castle, survive; also three sisters, Mrs. Henry Moore of Mooreland, Mrs. Matilda Chamness and Mrs. David Niccum, and three brothers, Dr. David Clapper and Jacob Clapper of Mooreland and Wrill Clapper of Dayton, O. The deceased was a member of the German Baptist church, west of Hagerstown, where the funeral service will be conducted Saturday afternoon.

COTTON SHIP SAILS

MUNGIE PROMISES STIFF OPPOSITION With the Muncie boys going at a faster clip than when the Seeders first met them prospects are not rosy for the Seeders to take another double header tomorrow at Muncie. The local defense men will have to be up and moving to stop the Muncie rushers especially Fahrner who it is said is playing the best game ever for the Muncie boys. Fahrner by the way was a rushing mate to Eddie Higgins in the Eastern league for a short time and was so fast that Eddie was played at cover point, letting Fahrner do the floor work.

AUTHOR'S WIFE DIES BINGHAMPTOX. N. Y.f Dec. 24. Isabel Gordon Curtis, novelist and magazine writer and wife of Francis Curtis, editor of the Erie, Pa., Dispatch, is dead here following a surgical operation.
