COUNT OF VEHICLES SHOWS LITTLE USE OF SOUTH E ROAD Advisory Body of New Bridge Takes Four Counts to Determine Course of Travel. Four counts of vehicles passing cer
the corner of Eighth and Main street, and the other at Tenth street. When the leader of a coyote pack was killed recently at Sligo, Colo., it was found to be a shepherd collie Bears the Signature of

the territory south of Richmond have been taken by the members of the advisory committee appointed by the county commissioners recently to ascertain to a certainty the best location for the South side bridge. Engineer Jack Mueller of New Castle, told the commissioners that more than fifty per cent, of the vehicles are automobiles. The closeness of Christmas may have had some effect on the amount and character of the travel, he said. Counts were taken on E street at the intersections of Fifth, Sisth and Seventh streets. This was to deter1mine the value of E street as a cross street. It was found that ninety-five per cent of the travel was north and south travel and that only five per cent was on IS street. Counts from School. Another test was taken from the Joseph Moore school house. A man was stationed in the school for a day to count the vehicles passing to and from the Abington pike. Mr. Mueller said that the location of livery stables, hitch racks, the market house and the business houses or banks which the farmers patronize influences greatly the routes taken. The counts have proved thus far that K street is not a valuable street for i loss town traveling, but, the engineer si id. this does not mean that E street
or any other south end street would not become a well traveled street if a south side bridge is built. The report of the engineers of the county commissioners is being held up by delays in making the foundation tests. A Centerville firm was employed to do the work but has failed to move machinery to the sites specified. While the advisory committee and the engineers are waiting for the results of the foundation tests, other counts of the travel will be taken.
