RICHMOND POLO LEAGUE. W. Li. Pet. A. S. M 2 0 1.000 Smoke House , 1 1 .500 Greeks 0 2 .000 Quigleys ........ .... 0 2 .000 Results Last Night. A. S. M., 8; Quigleys, 0. Smoke House, 3; Greeks, 2. The largest crowd that has been in the Coliseum for some time witnessed the undoing of the Quigleys and Greeks by the A. S. M. and Smoke House teams respectively last night. The house was in an uproar the entire evening liberally applauding the sparkling plays. Despite the large score marked up by the Seeders on the Quigleys the game was a fast one. The playing of the Quigleys was better than the score would indicate. Players had a hard time keeping from making fouls any number of them grabbing the ball with their hands. Several scrimmages in front of the goals brought the rooters to their feet or caused them to drop back in their seats with a sigh when some player would shoot in pick the "pill" out of the bunch and start towards the opposing goal. Quigleys Battle Dope. The Quigleys were doomed to defeat before they stepped on the floor but the manner in which they started out in the first period it looked for a while as though they were going to upset the dope more than holding their own but Lou Quigley and Youg Champ Kvans soon dispelled all hope of the Quigleys rooters when they began to

bombard Snavely with hard shots. Lou particularly had a good night driving with the greatest of precision and having "power" behind all of them. Dink Minor, who went in for Carrol at center in the middle of the second period was a bear, showing much, better than in his previous games time after time stopping the Seeders' rushers as they were going down the floor. Besides his good defensive play play he also handed O'Metz some -shots that looked good for goals and but for the vigilent eye of Harry would have been counted. The only goal made by the Quigleys came in the second period. They lost it a few minutes later when the third foul was called on them. QUIGLEYS.

The second game ' between the Smokes and Greeks' was another thriller equally as good as the GreekA. S. M. game of a, week ago. The Greeks came out on the short end again this time by a 3 to 2 count, due mainly to their not mixing it enough. The two main features of this game was the holding tactics employed by Abel. He was allowed to get by with it for two periods and finally had to be warned to desist from using such tactics. The other feature was the two accidental goals the first going in favor of the Greeks, tieing the count, followed sholty by one in favor of the Smokes giving them the winning tally. The game from the start wa a fast one scintillating plays following each other in rapid suecessioflV Players on both teams were equally applauded by the fans. - Both guardians of the goals were on their toes. Bradfield Plays Well. Bradfield who was shifted into D. Geyer's place in the second period came across with some mighty clever playing and if he can keep up the pace "he is going at the present will more than hold his own with the majority of the rushers in the league. Oesting played a nice game blocking Lefty several times when to let him go would have resulted disastrously for the Smokes. Dutch could not make any goals on Hank. For the Geeks the work of Fetzer stood out as the best playing. He was all over the floor, making the only real goal credited to that team. Bill got the ball off to the side of the Smoke goal and shot one of his famous knee high drives into the netting in the second period for the tieing score. Marine was a little faster in getting to the spot showing four rushes to three by his opponents. The two accidental.

goals were made, the first going into the Smoke goal when Bulla shot. one from the side hitting Clark and glancing into Badel's cage. In a scrimmage in front of Hank's goal a short time afterwards Fetzer trying to get the ball away kicked it past Hank. The playing from this time on waa the fastest of the evening the. Greeks trying in vain to land the tieing count. GREEKS.

HAGERSTOWN COMES BACK WITH DEFEAT Work of Waltz and Werking Proves Undoing of Richmond Quintet. HAGERSTOWN, Dec. 12. Hagerstown's basketball team came back with a vengeance last night, defeating the Richmond five by the score of 32 to 23. Waltz and Werking the Hagerstown forwards, had a big night between them, scoring thirty points. This pair caused the city boys much trouble last week, when the local team was defeated at Richmond. ' Even Brown, who has been the main scorer for the Red and White, had an off night, making only six points. Porter starred in point making for Nohr's team, with five foul goals and three field goals for a total of eleven points. Waltz was the star point getter of both teams, with twenty-one points to his credit. Richmond.
