BANK PUTS CLUB ROOMS IN PLAN FOR NEW HOME Gayle Displays Drawings Which Include Quarters for Employes' Recreation Gets Idea in East.
l'lans for the new First National bank building, to be aa handsome and imposing as befits the first bank in the United States to receive a national charter, have been completed by Hoggson Brothers, architects, of New York. President A. D. Gayle brought the plans with him from New York today. While east Mr. Gayle Inspected the banks in New York, New Haven, Bridgeport and elsewhere.
"One feature to be incorporated into our new building is to be a clubroom for bank employes. This will be located in the basement. There will be a pool table, shower baths and comfort able reading chairs," said Mr. Gayle. "A club for employes was advocated by every banking officer I met in the east." The new building, which is to be erected on the site of the old one, will extend to the first alley north of Main street. It will be the new type of one-story banking structure, which has the height of the ordinary three-story building. There will be a second floor in the rear of the building, where a large directors' room will be so arranged as to present a full view of the first floor banking room. In the rear of this room will be a commodious women's toilet and rest room and a few private offices. The interior of the building is to be finished in marble and rare woods, and it will be one of the handsomest bank buildings in the country. The main entrance will be on Seventh street, about twenty feet north of Main street.
MR. AND MRS. FRANK WIGGANS ENTERTAIN AT OCEAN PARK, GAL.
Richmond Visitors in California Enjoy Hospitality of Former Local Residents Thirteen at Table, But Number Considered Omen of Good Luck.
BY A GUEST. Ocean Park, Cal., Dec. 6, 1914. In response to the very kind invitation from Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wiggans, a very happy company of former and present Richmondites gathered at their home for luncheon Sunday. By 1 o'clock the guests had all assembled on the spacious veranda of the Wiggans home. To those of us who had lately come from the and of ice to the southern

Large baskets of long trailing vines hung in just the right places not especially arranged for the occasion but just as you would see them were you here today. A hedge of red geraniums surrounded their large lot and giant calla lilies bloomed in the yard. Presently Mrs. Wiggans announced that luncheon would be served. And there on the veranda amid such wond
rous beauty with the bright sun shining on us and the ocean breeze fanning us, we partook of the bounties of the golden state of California. After luncheon each one tried to outdo his neighbor in recalling childhood, school and later day incidents No one was alarmed because there were just thirteen present. For in California that is a sure sign of a wedding There were only four widows. In each of the four cases the eyes brightened and the cheeks flushed percepti
bly as they thought of the fine fish that were yet in the Richmond sea, and that the competition was not so bad. The hour for parting came all too soon, for each had had a most delightful day. As we parted our hearts went out in gratitude to the Great Giver of all good and in thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Wiggans, who made it possible for us to have such an enjoyable day. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wiggans, Mrs. Helen McDill Young, Mrs. Mary Gaar, Mrs. Belle Lyon Richie, Mrs. Emma Lyon Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Gaar, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. (Gilbert, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gilbert and little Sarah Jane Gilbert.
