CHRISTIAN QUINTET WHIPS GREENVILLE Ohio Holds Long End by 2 Points at End of First Shift in Line-up Gives Centrals Game.
Christians, 26; Greenville, 12. The Central Christian basketball team last night defeated the Greenville team, despite the boasted prowess of Bull Durham and his cohorts, in a fairly Interesting game. The Centrals were unable to score often in the first half, missing several open shots at -the goal. Their team work was superior to that, of the visitors. Durham was the first to score, dropping one in from the foul line, and following soon after with one from the field. Meyers for the Centrals then shot one in from the field. The half was a neck-and-neck race the rest of the way, with Greenville on the long nd of a !)-to-7 score for the first, half. Meyers and Markley came together in this half, both getting cuts above the eye. In the second half Wilcoxen was moved to forward to replace Meyers, and Henderson took Wilcoxen's place. This combination worked together better than the first combination, and swept the Ohio lads from their feet. Centrals scored 19 points in this half against :i by the visitors. Kennedy was the chief scorer, marking up four pretty field goals, two of which came from tif offs. Halo shot a pretty one when completely covered. Wilcoxen showed good floor work, being free practically the whole half, lie made three long distance goals. Despite Hull Durham's weight. Brown played all over him, and half the time Bull's
hulk was lying on the floor. In the curtain raiser the Central Seconds were defeated by the Honest Scraps by the overwhelming score of 22 to 4 in a rough-house game. Medearis was the chief scorer, making eleven points. The teams played but one half. The scores: Central Christians. G. K.G. F.G.M. F.
