AUSTRIAN TROOPS PUSH SOUTHWARD
BY LEASED WIRE. VIENNA, via Berlin and Amsterdam, Dec. 7. The Austrian army which invaded Northern Servia and occupied Belgrade has begun to push southward. Official announcement to this effect was made today. "There has been a further advance of the Austrian army of Invasion In Northern Servia," says the statement. "The Servians are not making any resistance. We took three hundred prisoners without any fighting. "To the west and southwest of Arandjelo plain tho Servians are making fierce attacks." TURKS ADVANCE CONSTANTINOPLE, via Sofia, Berlin and Amsterdam, Dec. 7. Turkish field headquarters in the Tchorokh Valley (Trans-Cacucasia) reports that the Turkish advance has reached a point east of Batum. "Our advance northward continues without check," says the announcement. "We have diverted troops In the direction of Ardagan, where the Russians are In retreat." (Batum is on the Black 6ea, 160 miles west of Tiflis and fifteen miles inside the Russian border. Ardagan is 60 miles southwest of Batum.)

J. T. Pickerell, manager of the Indiana Business College at Muncie, spent a few hours ot the college Wednesday rvening. j. li. Campbell made a business trip to New Castle, Friday and reports that everybody is coming along nicely, Frank Stenger, principal commercial department went to Cambridge City and Ijewlsville, Saturday to liok after some business for the school. The contest in rapid calculation is reating a great deal of enthusiasm among the students. The captains of the two sides are Carl Blomeyer and Tennis White. Their standing so far is i votity-three points and eighteen I dints respectively. Mr. Blomeyer's side bids fair to stay in the lead. Edgar O. Several people from this place attended a miseelloneous shower given in honor of Miss Alsie Vorhees at her home Wednesday evening. Mrs. SImms entertained the Friends Missionary society Tuesday afternoon. The time was spent at quilting. Those present were Mrs. Hartley, Mrs. Clark, Maggie Kendall, Ada Mdrow, Ida Pickett, Leah Kendal and Anna Kendall. Miss Adelaide Kemp is on the sick list. Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Martin have returned from Greenfield, where they were called on account of the serious illness of her sister. Mrs. Minnie Nichols called on Mr. and Mrs. William Reynolds Tuesday. Mrs. Jennie Nichols spent Tuesday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Huffman. John Fowble moved to the Miller farm last week. Mrs. Mary Ryan of Richmond, a former resident of this place is very sick.
NORWEGIAN SHIP FOUNDERS IN GALE
F BY LEASED WIRE. LONDON', Dec. 7. The Norwegian steamer Waterloo, of 1,283 tons burden foundered in a gale off the Lizard early today with the loss of all her crew, save three members.
