The American "Santa Claus" ship Jason, which was sent from New York with a cargo of toys for little children of the refugees, arrived here today. A reception was given to her officers this afternoon after which the Admiralty was represented. This evening a banquet will be given. Tomorrow the entire crew of the Jason will be entertained by the authorities of Plymouth. The Jason sailed from New York on November 14 under command of Lieutenant C. E. Courtney, of the United States Navy, who had been designated by Secretary of the Navy Daniels to sail the ship. She has enough toys for one million children.

The regulation ingredients of Thanksgiving day dinner are sightly cheaper this year than last, according to south-market men, who handled much of the supplies for the United States. They said that a family of eight could do very well with $2.25 for their Indian summer repast. The first ostrich dinner of the season was given at noon today at the Chicago Athletic association grill room. The chef began roasting the ostrich, which weighed seventy pounds dressed at 6 o'clock this morning. Wooden takes a foot long were found in the bird's stomach. There was about 17 pounds of edible meat on the creature, recording to the chef, and the cost was S35. Every guest was given one joint of the neck, which was four feet long.

ALUMNI OF OHIO TO HOLD REUNION EATON, O., Nov. 26. Fifty Preble cnuntians who have at some time or other been enrolled in the student body of Ohio State university, Columbus, will hold a reunion next Friday in Eaton in observance of "Ohio State Day." Before the call for a reunion was extended to each county of the state, Preble county's delegation joined that of Montgomery county and im-nt in Dayton. The Ladies' Aid society of St. Paul's M. E. church will prepare a banquet for the students.

Zeppelin airship was dropping bombs

upon Warsaw on Tuesday, another bombarded the town of Plock from the air. The airship that appeared above Plock dropped two bombs, but

a dispatch from warshaw says that it

was subsequently brought down by fire from the Russian guns and- was captured. No details have been received as to the fate of the Zeppelin's crew. The ship which flew over Warsaw also dropped two bombs. The second fell near the American consulate and smashed all the windows in the building occupied by the United State consul. It killed or wounded more than a score of persons. The victims were carried into the consulate and cared for until they could be taken to a hospital.

DIES OF INJURIES

BY LEASED WIRE. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Nov. 25. E. C. Hansell, 38, superintendent of the Esterline Electrical Manufacturing company, died today from injuries sustained when a street car crashed into and demolished his touring car in Irvlngton suburb late yesterday. Hansell and his companion, Miss Sadie Boonster, 25, were pinned beneath the overturned automobile which was hurled sixty-feet by the impact of the collision.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the late home In Gettysburg for J. Brant Hawley, 46, president of the Preble County Agricultural society. The sermon was delivered by Rev. W. P. Kneisley of New Paris. The body was brought to Eaton and

interred in Mound Hill cemetery. Members of the Agricultural society attended the services in a body. A union service of the churches of Eaton was held Wednesday evening in the Barron Street Church of Christ. The sermon will be delivered by Rev. George H. Smith, pastor of St. Paul's M. E. church. Charles Swihart, local automobile agent, sped up Cherry street at a rate that exceeded the limit allowed by the city. Marshal Armstrong had him haled in before Mayor Foos Tuesday morning, and he was fined $3.00 and costs. Roy E. Howe and Ethel Brown, both well known residents of West Manchester, were married Tuesday afternoon by Rev. McD. Howsare at his study in the Gall building. The couple will reside in West Manchester, where the bridegroom owns a restaurant.
