Seidel Returns From Meeting Which Orders Temporary House Built.

George Seidel returned last night from a meeting of the penal farm directors which included a visit to the penal farm site. The directors found that only a few tents furnished the protection for workers. An order for materials to build a temporary house was made out Immediately. Mr. Seidel said twenty-four picked men would be taken from Michigan City penitentiary to start building operations. These men will be expert

carpenters, masons and builders who are serving sentences. As the buildings are erected, more men will gradually fill the quarters. The farm will not be in operation for some time, Mr. Seidel said. Arrangements are being made to use all the materials available in the 1,500acre tract of land. The farm was picked for its varied topography and resources. It will afford stone, clap and timber. The location of the temporary buildings has been changed to a point close to the National road. The new site is level and will make the cost of the buildings less expensive.

Mrs. W. H. Brown entertained the Embroidery club Wednesday afternoon. A very pleasant company was present Including the club guests Mrs. John North of Bluffton, and Mrs. M. V. Brown. The afternoon was happily spent by all and nice refreshments served by the hostess, Mrs. Brown. As an item of business Mrs. W. B. Brown, who was president, resigned her office and Mrs. H. D. Huddleston was elected by the club to fill the vacancy. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wilson went to Purdue Friday to spend over Sunday with their son, Russell Wilson. E. M.
