BOTH STATE RIVALS HOPE TOIWIN GAME Indiana Promises Best Battle
of Season Against Purdue at Lafayette. The most important football game in the state tomorrow will be between the Indiana and Purdue elevens at Lafayette. The intense rivalry existing between the two state elevens always makes their battle the big game of the season. Purdue, despite the unpleasant relations between the coaches and the Athletic association, has turned out a team that has played the game right up to the handle, while Indiana is going better this year than for the last four seasons, due mainly to the methods introduced by Coach Childs, un old Yale star. Childs took hold, of a badly disorganized bunch of Athletes, and by hard work and plenty of it has finally gotten them to working together as they have never worked before. A number of local fans will go to Lafayette to witness the struggle.
MERCURIO TOPPLES PINS FOR VICTORIES
There was too much Mercurlo for the Rosebuds last night when they bowled against the Santa Marias, to which bunch of pin topplers they dropped three straight, the two teams changing positions in the standing of the K. of C. league. As is customary nowadays in this league one man was in good enougli form to take all the honors, P. Mercurlo being the man to do the trick. Ho took high score, 169, average 153 and total 458.

Marine and Bulla worked together in the most approved fashion. Red pulltwo out of the air and converted them into goal, while Bulla made a beauty with a short stroke in a scrimmage in front of the cage. Snavely made the first accidental score so far when he stuck his club in front of a drive by Quigley, and turned the pill into his own goal for a score.
Because of the absence of the Quigley's and the Greens' goal tenders, Geyer and O'Metz did the guarding for their respective teams.
