Those gentlemen are Russell of Chicago, Hughitt of Michigan, and Clark of Illinois. Russell played a grand game last year and Is performing in fine style this year. Hughitt is one of the best quarterbacks that Michigan has had in many years, while Clark, a new comer In the ranks of football stars, Is startling even his own teammates by his grand generalship. In the East, Ghee of Dartmouth, Ooodwin of Washington and Jefferson and Logan of Harvard must be considered. Of course. Its possible before the eaeon ends that the field will simmer down to one or two. INDEPENDENTS FACE GREENVILLE ELEVEN
Local Football Team Signs for Two Games With Ohio Crowd.
HUNTSMEN FORAGE COUNTYJOR GAME Three Hundred Thirty-Seven Take Out Licenses in Last Nine Days. In anticipation of the open season starting today on all game except squirrels, 117 hunters secured hunting licenses yesterday from the county clerk, and today's record probably will be almost as good. In the first nine days of November, 337 hunting licenses were issue. It is said that Wayne county has more game this year than any counties south, and that quail are plentiful in the northern and southern parts of the county. Hunters have had no difficulty in killing a good bag of rabbits, and it evident that there will be plenty for the seasons' hunting.
Articles of agreement were yesterday drawn up between the local Independent Football team and the Greenville-Gettysburg team for two games, one to take place Sunday, November 22, when the locals journey to Greenville. On Thanksgiving the Ohio team will be brought to Richmond to stack up against the locals. This game will be played at the Athletic park, South Twenty-third street. So far Richmond teams which have played at Greenville have had a little the best of the argument and the scrappy Ohio bunch will be here with a large crowd of rooters to do all in their power to help their team.
