HILLS V

AT FLOWER SHOW floral Company Takes Thirteen Prizes at National Chrysanthemum Exhibit. Richmond-grown chrysanthemums

are the finest in America. j This fact -was successfully demonstrated by the E. O. Hill company, of this city, which won 13 first prizes and the individual honors at the floral display of the chrysanthemum society Df America, which closed at Indianapolis yesterday. In addition to these honors, the local company attracted a great deal of attention with a great basket of "Hoosier Beauty" roses. This is the first time this rose has been exhibited, and experts predict that it will take the place of American Beauty and

other older blossoms. This new rose was originated by the Dorner Nursery of Lafayette, and has been developed

by the Hills to its present perfection. The rose is a deep red with a velvety finish to the leaves and a black cast that gives it great richness. The following prizes were awarded the Hill company: Fifty blooms, assorted colors, $30.00; twenty-five blooms, white, $15.00; twenty-five blooms, pink, $15.00; six blooms, white, $4.00; largest individual bloom, $5.00; six varieties, three blooms each, $12.00; twenty-four blooms in twentylour varieties, $20.00; vase of 100 pprays, singles, assorted colors, $15.00; KImer D. The fire department responded to two alarms Sunday night. At the home of Joseph Hoover, 5 Roscoe street, a fire starting between floors threatened to do much damage but was finally extinguished with a loss of about $150.
