SCHEPMAN PILOTS 1" FIVE AGIST SCMEjAST TEAMS After Electing Captain Quintent Decides to Use Numbers for Players as Aid to Spectators. Spot Schepman was last night elected captain of the Y. M. C. A. basket ball team. Spot is a peppery player

being in the game at all times and is n. good leader. He is especially strong on traveling up the floor from his guard position and helping his team boost the score by dropping the ball In the hoop. The "Y" will wear practically the same combination suits as last year. The shirts will have the Y. M. C. A. emblem across the chest while the stockings will be blue with three orange stripes. A feature of the suits this year will be that every player will be numbered. 'Ihis pian is well thought of by a number of the best basket-ball players and coaches in the country who believe that it not only helps the spectators keep track of the various players but It also helps the players in a scramble to pick out their team mates. Roach is going to give the plan a thorough trial, No game has been definitely scheduled for Nov. 14 when the "Y" is expected to play the first game. Roach is figuring on the Muncie team but in case Matson is unable to get a team together he will book some other fast team, possibly the Ansonia, Ohio, five. The team has picked the following quintets which it would like to meet this winter: Lewisville, Winchester, Centerville, Liberty, Muncie, "Y" Connersville, Kokomo, any Indianapolis team playing A. A. U. rules, the Detch Specials preferred, Rushville, Anderson, New Albany "Y", Marion "Y", Huntington and the following from Ohio: From Dayton, Dayton Gyms, Little Giants and High Standards, the Hamilton "Y", Eaton, Ansonia and the Tast Presbyterian Brotherhood team of Middletown. Numbers as the team will wear them will be Parker 1, Lanning 2, Jones 3, Roach 4, Brunton 5, Schepman 6, and Brown 7. Your Fall Cold Needs Attention. No use to fuss and try to wear it out. It will wear you out instead. Take Dr. King's New Discovery, relief follows quickly. It checks your Cold and Soothes your Cough away. Pleasant, Antiseptic and Healing. Children like it. Get a 50c. bottle of Dr. King's New Discovery and keep it in the house. "Our family Cough and Cold Doctor" writes Lewis Chamberlain, Manchester, Ohio. Money back is not satisfied, but it nearly always helps. Advertisement ENRAGED ESCORT (Continued from Page One.) hands over her ears and ran screaming down the stairway, passing her brother. Clark, it is believed, ignored Green's order and rushed at him. Green says his brother-in-law rushed at him with a knife. Two shots rang out in rapid succession, the charge i'rom one barrel shattering the glass of the door transom, the charge from the second barrel striking Clark squarely in the stomach, dropping him to the liorch floor, where he was found a few minutes later. When Mrs. Clark returned she was in a wildly hysterical condition. Clark Remains Unconscious. An ambulance rushed ('lark to the hospital. Thr! examination made by the physicians developed the fact that he was mortally wounded and he died at 10:30 o'clock, without having recovered consciousness. Mr. Barnard, who is now at the Home for the Friendless, was arrested following the shooting on a charge i if intoxication so she can be held as a witness. Alter her ejectment from the ('lark home she returned to her own home and about half clothed got into bed at the side of her husband. When the police arrived she was sleeping roundly. After she had finally been aroused her husband said to her reproachfully, "Mammy, have you been out. with another man?" To which the woman replied, "I'm innocent. I was jut slaving tho piano for some people.'' She was removed to the Friendless Home to resume her slumbers. Police Scout Story. Green and his sister, Mrs. Clark, are KetUiiekiatis. Oi'fcn has lived in Richmond about live years-. Clark was born ii . i'.r Middleboro, this county, had lived in Richmond several years, had twice been married and was well Known. The police scout at Green's story that he shot Clark after the latter had lushed at him with a kni. , for they fay Clark ! ad no such weapon in his possession when found dying on the back porch of his home. They say they er n prove there were absolutely no extenuating circumstances Green can offer in defense of his crimp. The man is being held without bail at the county jail pending an investigation of the murder by the grand jury. Kven after his arrest last night he talked in a rambling fashion to Chief Goodwin and Prosecutor Keller. Today he was in a very nervous state but gave no evidence that he realized the enormity of his offense. Mrs. Clark is in a very hysterical condition. Ttulip Bulbs, 19c per dozen. BE SURE TO GET REAL RESINOL If you want to get rid of eczema, pimples, or other distressing skin eruption, you will accept no "substitute" for Kesinol. Ointments similar in name or appearance are NOT "just the same aB Kesinol." Although a FEW unscrupulous dealers may offer them AS or FOR Resinol, they are often crudely made, of little healing power, and some may even be dangerous to use. Every druggist keeps genuine Resinol because doctors prescribe it regularly; so if you buy in the original BLUE package you will be safe from substitution. f Continued from Page One.) of a primary law, but up to the present time I have not heard a word from them, so I am forced to assume that I cannot personally trust them to represent our county in the 1915 assembly," Crawford declared. Ignore Reform Laws. He said that legislative candidates of both old parties all over the state were apparently deaf and dumb because none of them had been heard from as to how they would stand on reform legislation. "I feel confident however, that if elected they can be ! depended upon to implicitly obey their i political bosses," Crawford predicted. I have heard that Democrats in this county have been saying that I am trying to break up their party in a spirit of revenge," he continued. "In reality I am doing more to save this party than those fellows who walk up and vote their tickets straight. I tell you the same trouble is brewing within the reactionary Democratic party as that which destroyed the Republican party. "I also hear that they say I am sore at Cook. Well I have a right to be. I'm a taxpayer and I'm tired of having these cheap politicians going into my pocket and taking my money. I saw what he and his eane did so I'm ! against him or anyone like him. What we need in this state is honest offi cials. Answers Gov. Ralston. "By the way that's a fine argument Governor Ralston is making for Cook. Summed up it is: 'there isn't enough Best Laxative For Children When your baby is cross and fretful instead of the happy, laughing little dear you are accustomed to, in all probability the digestion has become deranged, and the bowels need attention. Give it a mild laxative, dispel the irritability and bring back the happy content of babyhood. The very best laxative for children is Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin, because it contains no opiate or narcotic drug, is pleasant tasting and acts gently, but surely, without griping or other distress. Druggists sell Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin at fifty cents and one dollar a bottle. For a free trial bottle write to Dr. W. B. Caldwell, 451 Washington St., Monticello, 111.

proof against Cook to send him to penitentiary, so you ought to elect him secretary of state.' "You fellows who believe in this 'come back' stuff are going to have heart failure next Wednesday when you read the election returns. I have been in thirty-six counties and I have met hundreds of men like myself who are sick and tired of Republican and Democratic misrule. This sentiment is especially strong in the north and that's why the king bee of the Democrats is running about that part of the state saying to the rebellious Democrats, 'if you don't vote her straight I won't ever visit your counties again.' "This talk about voting the Democratic ticket straight and 'upholding the hands of President Wilson,' Is pure bunk and rot. Do you think that voting for a bunch of crooks is 'upholding' the president. These fellows shouting this 'uphold' stuff are the same ones who would knife the president or any other forward looking Democrat at the next national convention.
