LYNCH ADDRESSES RALLY OF G, 0. P, IN CAMBRIDGE CITY Republican Nominee Says Democrats Used AldrichVreeland Law to Save Nation in Crisis.
The Republican rally held at Cambridge City last night was largely attended, delegations coming from various sections of the county. The Hichmond delegation made the trip in two special traction cars, and was accompanied by a drum corps. The rreetius was h'.iJ in the opera house, with an address by P. J. Lynch, Republican nominee for representative in congress TVuin the Sixth district. Denver liarIan, candidate for prosecuting attorney, presided. That the Democratic party had to draw on a Republican law to save the country from the crisis into which it was plunged by the European war, was the statement of Mr. Lynch. The candidate declared Uiat had it not been for the Aid rich- Vreeland law, passed under the Taft administration to safeguard the finances of the country in just such a crisis as that which came upon the nation, the country would have been plunged into financial ruin. G. O. P. Saves National. "In every city," said Lynch, "the directors of ever national bunk had to go into their vaults and draw upon their share of $180,000,000 in gold reserve to save the face of the nation. Had it not been for the Republican foresight and statesmanship the country would not have been safeguarded against the tremendous overflow of American gold to Kurope." The candidate pointed out that, notwithstanding that, there had been an increase of $lfl2,000,000 In the value of manufactured articles imported into this country from the time the Underwood tariff law went into effect until the outbreak otf the European war, August 1, American sales abroad decreased In the same time $108,000,000 and duties on imports decreased $30,770,000.70." "And thro now exists," he said, "according to the report of the secretary of the treasury, issued last Saturday, a deficit in the national treasury amounting to $36,599,076, as against a balance of $60,000,000 in the last year of the Republican administration." Republicans will bring to a close their campaign in Richmond tomorrow night when Senator Burton of Ohio, and Mr. Lynch will speak at the Coliseum. Republican candidates, committeemen and workers will meet at headquarters tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock and, headed by the Richmond City band, will visit several factories advertising this meeting.

PE1SY SOLICITOR PLEADS FOR RATE BOOST FROM BOARD
BY LEASED WIRE. WASHINGTON, Oct. 29. There was "something fundamentally wrong" in the yield of railroad earnings before the great European war broke out, according to George Stuart Patterson, general solicitor of the Pennsylvania railroad, who argued in behalf of the Pennsylvania lines today before the interstate commerce commission in the 5 per cent rate advance case. Proof of this can be found, Mr. Patterson said, in the financial returns of the year ending June 30, 1914. The carriers do not urge that the commission should grant the relief which is asked for as a matter of grace, declared Mr. Patterson. "The carriers recognized that it is the function of the company to make reasonable rates in view of the circumstances of the case. They urge that the plight railroads are in is one of the gravest dangers in the present situation, not by reason of the vital importance to the community that its transportation machinery shall at all times be in a state of health and efficiency, but also because railroad credit is the very backbone of the investment structure, now

bo gravely threatened by the present emergency. "For this reason they consider that nothing can be done more effectively to promote the welfare of the country as a whole at this time than to relieve upon the broadest possible lines open to the -commission trouble that is at the heart of the railroad industry." In concluding, Mr. Patterson declared that the need of the carriers can only be met practically by a general advance in rates.

Girls if you want plenty of thick, beautiful, glossy, silky hair, do by all means get rid of dandruff, for it will starve your hair and ruin It if you don't.
It doesn't do much good to try to brush or wash it out. The only sure way to get rid of dandruff is to dis
solve it, then you destroy It entirely.
To do this, get about four ounces of ordinary liquid arvon; apply it at night when retiring; use enough to moisten the scalp and rub it in gent
ly with the finger tips.
By morning, most if not all, of your
dandruff will be gone, and three or four more applications will completely dissolve and entirely destroy, every single sign and trace of it. You will find, too, that all itching and digging of the scalp will stop, and your hair will be silky, fluffy, lustrous, soft, and look and feel a hundred times better. You can get liquid arvon at any drug store. It is inexpensive and four ounces is all you will need, no matter how much dandruff you have. This simple remedy never fails. Adv.

Hlnes complained to the state board through thn attorneys to have his costs repaid him. Under the law Feemster is entitled to collect $5 for every case he prosecutes if the fine is paid. To every fine S10 is added the other half of which goes to the school city. As a deputy appointed in writing and qualified under a former administration, lawyers say Hlnes' claim against Feemster is groundless.
There Is still some doubt as to the legality of the collection of fees by Hatfield who has never qualified. It Is said, as assistant deputy prosecutor of Jackson township by oath to the coun
