DUIIING ASKS CITY FOR USE OF HOUSE South Side Organizations Send Men to Ask Use of Old Station. William Duning, grocer, Frederick Hackman and Hans Knoll, representing the German Alliance and the South Side Improvement association, called on Mayor Robbins at the city building today and made the suggestion to him that the old fire department house on South E street, now used by the city tor storage and a place to keep the street roller, be remodeled for the use of the South Side Improvement association, the German alliance and other south end organizations. Mr. Duning sad he would make it profitable for the city to take such action for he would agree to rent the first story of the building If it were remodeled into a storeroom. He said the south end organizations wanted a suitable meeting place, and he believed the second floor of this old building could be fixed up for such purpose at small expense. "Mr. KoJl and Mr. Hackman, who are directors of the South Side Improvement association, will agree with me that something to the benefit of the city will result if the old fire engine house is remodeled." Duning told the mayor, but he did not explain what plans the association had in view. Mayor Robbins will bring this matter before the board of public works at its meeting tomorrow. RECORDS

OF TWO DEPUTIES Representatives of State Accounts Board Inspect Feemster's Books. Field Examiners Cushman and Major of the state board of accounts are going over record In Cambridge City to ascertain if fees collected by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Alonzo Feemster in Jackaibn township and his assistant, B. F. Hatfi(id. can be legally retained by the attorneys. There has been some doubt as to whether the men qualified properly as deputy prosecutors. Mr. Feemster was deputy prosecutor In Jackson township several years ago, and when he was appointed by Prosecutor Reller in writing, it is said he failed to qualify again under the new administration. Prosecutor Reller said today that he had appointed Feemster to continue to act in Jackson township, and that Feemster had secured Mr. Hatfield as assistant to handle the few cases that come up in Dublin. At the time Mr. Feemster was notified of the appointment, Justice of the Peace Bowmaster was also notified in writing. The field examiners are securing the amounts of the fees from the records of the justice of the peace, and probably will consult with the state board of accounts regarding the legality of the transactions. Mr. Feemster hinted that politics is behind the report. Democrats made the first announcement from Democratic headquarters. Mr. Feemster is a strong Republican in Jackson town ship and has a large practice there. City Statistics Deaths and Funerals. ALLBRIGHT Word of the sudden death of J. C. Allbright at Newbery. TALK COMPROMISE OF HAHKIMS CASE Connersville Lawyers Tell of Steps to Prevent Re-trial OverWill. Re-trial of the Hanklns will case of Fayette county In the Wayne circuit court will not be necessary, Connersville lawyers said today, as the parties are taking steps to compromise. The suit to break the will of the $40,000 estate was brought against Monford E. Dale, who was a close friend of Daniel Uankins, by Mrs. Belle Chitwood of New Castle, Uankins' sister, who was entirely ignored in the will. The trial ' was in actual progress thirteen days. After long deliberation the jury disagreed. It has been estimated that the amount of the estate will not exceed $30,000 after the trial costs, lawyers' fees and other expenses have been paid.
