PAGET FIRE MOVIE" NEWS OF RICHMOND-
U. S. SENATE POSES FOR "MOVIE" REELS Hi SENATECHAMBER lVice President and Senator Kern Take Part in Rehearsal for Innovation in the "Movies."
BY LEASED WIRE. WASHINGTON, Oct. 10. For the first time in the history of the United States, moving pictures were taken in the senate chamber yesterday. They are to be used in connection with a lecture on the government of the .United States. Vice President Marshall, a number Df senators, including Senator Kern, of Indiana, Democratic leader, Senator Luke Lee of Tennessee and Senator Chamberlain of Oregon, the chaplain of the senate and clerks and pages went through their respective parts in the proceedings of the body. The vice president went through the motion of calling the senate to order; the chaplain offered a prayer, the journal was read, bills were introduced and one senator made a speech without words, which elicted a noiseless demonstration from a small contingent of spectators in the galleris. Never perhaps in the history of a government have such prominent persons taken part in a moving picture show as took place yesterday in the legislative building.
