WILLIAMS DIRECTS SCHOOLS TO TALK GERM DESTRUCTION 'County Superintendent Sends Teachers Suggestions for Work on Disease Prevention Day, October 2. Disease prevention day Oct. 2 will be extensively observed in Wayne county schools, according to County Superintendent "Williams and County Health Officer Kreuger. Mr. Williams has sent out the folliwIng letter to all teachers of the county, enclosing Dr. Krueger'a suggestions for the day: "As you are aware Wayne county the first day of last December set apart one hour during which all regular school work was suspended in every school room in the county and for one hour we talked Health. This was the origin of state-wide Disease Prevention Day and this year it is considered of such importance that the governor, Samuel L. Ralston has by a proclamation set apart Oct. 2, 1914, to be observed as Disease Prevention Day. "We desire you In your school to properly observe the day and for one hour at least to discuss with the childres Health. The plan of having public exercises and inviting local persons to discuss different phases of the subject of Keeping Well would be splendid. Suggests Subjects. "The following are suggestions of topics to be discussed and points to be emphasized prepared by Dr. F. V. Krueger, Wayne county health commissioner, will prove helpful: "Flies Prevent their reproduction. Use of screens. Use of lime. They carry disease, especially Typhoid and Tuberculosis. "Dust Carries germs of many infectious diseases. Scarlet Fever, Measles, La Grippe. Methods of sweeping. Germs live long time in dry dust of our roads and streets. Care of food and drink. "Rodents Carry diseases. Should be killed. "Mosquitoes Destroy the hatcheries, use coal oil. "Clean Bodies Within and Without Drinking tups. Individual towels. Use of tooth brush. Keeping the mouth clean. Use of pencils. "Air and Sunshine Live in the open air and sunshine all you can. Sleep with open windows. Learn to breathe. Flood house daily with fresh air. "Finally Don't lean upon medicine. Sickness means some law of health has been violated. Health is the greatest, the only wealth. Write health mottoes. Print health cards. Decorate your school room. GRANGE OCCUPIES CHURCH BUILDING

NEW PARIS. O., Sept. 29. The congregation of the Universalist church was formally disbanded Sunday afternoon at a farewell meeting in the old church building and presided over by a former pastor. Rev. Sara L. Stoner of Eaton. After an address by Mrs. Stoner, Rev. J. H. Blackford of ?:iclorado, gave a paper on the history of the church since its establishment in 2S40. At the close of the service the church clerk formally presented the title deed to the property and the keys f the building to the trustees of the New Paris Grange, which has purchased the place and will convert it into a meeting place. The new name is "The Grange Hall."
