TELEPHONE SERVICE IN RICHMOND GOOD September Issue of Magazine ; Praises High Standard of . Efficiency. A long news ltepa In the September Automatic Telephone, a monthly newspaper, published at Chicago, calls attention to the excellent serrice of Richmond telepbones, and says that Richmond haa a record of twenty-one oases of trouble for eaflfc one hundred telephones In a year. . The Richmond Home Telephone company, according to the Chicago publication, "establishes an extremely rigid standard of excellence" by making a quarterly survey of the 3,630 telephones in service by calling on each subscriber and asking the working condition of each telephone. Last year's survey showed a total of 760 complaints for all subscribers, which is at the rate of one complaint for each subscriber every five years. The system has been in operation six years. Each year's record shows a marked improvement In service and a diminishing of the number of telephone calls. "This has aided materially in establishing and maintaining a cordial feeling between the company and its subscribers," the telephone journal says.
