LYOIIS TELLS HOW TO GAM STRENGTH Presbyterian Pastor Talks to ' Fathers and Young Men of Church. M . Strength comes to men who always do the will of God, said Rev. S. R. Lyons In a sermon yesterday morning to the fathers and young men of his congregation. He quoted as his text that passage from St. Paul In which he said he had written to young men because they had strength and had oversome temptations. Strength and power are not synonymous, he said. "Strength is an inner thing, while power is an outer circumstance. Pilate had power, but Jesus Christ had strength. Power is uncertain, coming and going, but the strength which a man has in him remains always. "There are two ways of getting strength. To get it a man must have the Truth, the word of God abiding in him, for it Is the bread of life. Also temptation must be overcome. 'How shall a man use his strength?" Dr. Lyons then asked. "As a locomotive was not built to pull a baby cab, but something commensurate with its strength, so should man's strength be used on something worthy of it. He should not, spend it on the lust of the world, because all things worldly perish, but the. things of God are eternal. So man should use his strength in doing the will of God."
