Mr. and Mrs. John McCown entertained Wednesday her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Bond and Mrs. Ruth Jarrett and Master Howard of Richmond. - Miss Gladys Stevens went to Munole Sunday to visit her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Shrlner. She will join them In a' ten days outing trip at Webster lake in the north part of the state. Miss Laura Hill and sister Mrs. Horner left Wednesday evening for Minneapolis. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Shaner of Brookville, O., and niece. Miss Evlyn Stafford, are visiting her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Deardof f . Misses Laura Belle Stevens, Josephine Barton and Wyota Cook gave a lawn fete complimentary to six girls of their Sunday school class and six News About On Wednesday evening Mrs. Howard Thorn, Misses Maud Shook and Mary Kemp very delightfully entertained with a miscellanous shower at the home of the former in honor of Mrs. Walter Benson, a recent bride. Invitations had been limited to her most intimate friends, and the evening was a happy one for all members of the party. The guests were asked to contribute a tested receipt, the collection to form a book for future use. Various contests were held, affording much amusement. The bride reoeived many beautiful gifts. The hostess served dainty refreshments. Misses Pearl Alexander, Emma Riley and Jennie Eckerle returned Saturday from Winona Lake. Miss Effie Martin of Richmond is spending the week end with friends here. Rev. Milo Hlnkle and family were entertained Friday at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stidham. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Gerlach and daughter were visitors in Richmond Saturday. Paul Kurtz is taking a few days' vacation at his home at Kirlin, Ind., on account of illness.

Mrs. Rupe of Topeka, Kansas, Is the guest of her cousins Mr. and Mrs. Frank Scott and the Dunbar family. Mrs. Rupe is the widow of Rev. Mr. Rupe and were former residents of Centervllle. Mr. Rupe was a Baptist minister. He preached a number of times In the local Christian church while a resident of this place. Lynn Folks J. T.
