The funeral of Mrs. Tracy Osborn took place at Elkhorn chapel Friday forenoon, conducted by Rev. Mr. Lyons, pastor of Reid Memorial church, Richmond. The following memoir was read by the minister: Tracy 'Smelser Osborn, youngest daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Smith Smelser. was born October 3, 1835, and passed away at the home of her daughter in the early morning of Wednesday, June 24, 1914, aged 78 years, 7 months and 21 days. She was united in marriage to Zacharlah Osborn, January 27, 1866; to them were born seven children, six sons and one daughter. Three sons were taken from them in early childhood, and after a brief married life of twenty-five years she was bereft of her husband, and with the remaining four 'children she took up the battle of life alone, and bravely and truly she fought it, abiding always in the beautiful faith of the Universalist religion, in which faith she was a firm believer:, that God doeth all things well; He knows what is best for He sees the end from the beginning. She raised her children to honorable manhood and womanhood; her life is her obituary; she lived an open, honest, upright life, a life without a stain, and we ALL loved her. What more can be said? She attended to her business affairs until within the last few years. When her decline began, about four months ago, she went to make her home with her daughter, where she received every attention that loving children and medical aid could give; but it was otherwise ordained, for the hour of her departure had come. And today with sad hearts we come to pay our last tribute to her we loved so well. , She leaves three sons, Foster and Frank Osborn of Liberty, Charles Osborn of New Castle, and one daughter, Elizabeth Lashley of Boston; also four grandchildren, one brother, Jacob Smelser of Frankton, and one ister, Minerva Hart of Union county, besafces a host of relatives and friends whc?hourn her departure. ThCr sorrow and strife mark the Journey of Life, Yet, sunny are most of the hours. Tho'yWj burdened with care, yet the wayside Is fair, And bright with the bloom of its bowers. But tho' nature be gay along the whole way, And in splendor the - Summers are - dressed. Yet none after all, but list to the call Of the voices that sigh in the dying Fall, Baying, Come home, weary pilgrim, and rest. Elizabeth Smelser Coagblia J
