SOUTH SIDE THAIS CITY F0RCAR LINES Improvement Association Ex- . presses Pleasure Over the ; Promise of Extension. . Entire satisfaction was expressed by members of the South Side Improvexnent association at the regular meeting last evening over the agreement made between the special committee appointed by the association, city officials and the heads of the Traction company relative to the extension of the street car line to South N street n Eighth street The committee which represented the association in the negotiations was composed of B. JA.. Kennepohl, Adolph Blickwedel, William Bockhoff and Hans Koll. The south side has been promised that the extension will be completed by September 1, according to the report made by B. A. Kennepohl, chairman of the committee. By unanimous Vote the city administration was highly praised by the S. S. I. A. Mr. Kennepohl, who was president jbf the board of works under the Zimmerman administration, said last evening, "The city officials get knocked enough for what they do, and I atn in lavor of telling them when they do something that should be appreciated." It was also decided at the meeting Past evening QH, as soon as the tracks jfcre laid, a waiting station will be built tot the end of the line. New Yorkers will establish a ten thousand-acre dairy farm in Tennesee.

SET KAMP-THOMAS REUNION IN AUGUST

The fifth annual reunion of the Kamp-Thomas families will be held at Beallview park on August 9. A meeting of the officers of the reunion association was held last evening at the home of Richard Bartel, 530 South Tenth street, and committees were appointed to have charge of the arrangements. It is expected that over 200 members of these two families will attend this year's reunion. Over 125 members live in Richmond alone. The officers of the reunion association are Thomas Allen, president; August Schroeder, vice-president; August Thomas, second vice-Jresident; Richard Bartel, secretary; Ed. Kamp, treasurer.

Friends may call at any time. ARCHEY Everett Archey, colored, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Archey, 231 South Twelfth street, died yesterday afternoon. The funeral will be held from the home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Earlham cemetery.

NEW CASTLE, Ind., July 8. New Interest was Introduced Into the case of Dr. and Mrs. W. A. Winters and Ross Cooper, charged with conspiracy in connection with the disappearance of Catherine Winters, when three detectives arrived here today and went to work on clues alleged to have been discovered in connection with the case. Shortly after the detectives appeared, Prosecutor Myers said the conspiracy cases would not come up for trial on Friday, the date set, but he added that the cases would not be dismissed.

TRUSTEES TO PICNIC

Dr. Krueger appeared before the county school board and spoke on the laws governing the ventilating and heating of school houses and school hacks. He advised trustees to see that the law is fully carried out. The trustees promised to overhaul hacks and have school houses put in first class condition before September 1. This includes disinfecting for which Dr. Krueger left full explanations. Claude Keever, William G. Porterfield and Mandamus E. Mason, were appointed on a committee to arrange for the annual picnic of the township trustees at Jackson park Wednesday Aug. 5. The regular monthly meeting will be held at the picnic grounds.

VICS WIN AGAIN

The "Vies" added another team to the list of victims yesterday when they defeated the cigar clerks 7 to 0". They have now issued a challenge to a team of clerks of any style or brand. They desire a game Thursday afternoon. Nicodemus and Newman, for the "Vies," and Miller and Longstreth for the cigar clerks, were the batteries for yesterday's game.

RUPE BOOSTS CITY AT BAR MEETING

John L. Rape, president of the State Bar association, left yesterday with Attorney Walter G. Butler for Indianapolis. Today Mr. Rupe presided over the annual convention, which closes tomorrow night. Mr. Rupe was boosting Richmond when he was Interviewed by Indianapolis newspaper men. He spoke strongly of the advancement of this city. He gave the following interview: "We owe a great deal to our Com

mercial club. It is working for the betterment of Richmond in a general way. We do not subsidize factories, but our manufacturing interests are of great importance to Richmond. We are also expanding along artistic lines, and our music festival this spring was something of which we may all feel proud. With the exception of three soloists from Cincinnati, the programs were composed entirely of Richmond talent. Our Art association is also doing a great work maintaining a permanent collection in the high school building and giving free loan exhibits. There are many men out of employment in Richmond this summer, but they have been interested in the cultivation of vacant lots, transforming these waste places into gardens which have been of benefit to the tillers and the publio at large."

FIND LAY, Ohio, July 8. H. B. Longbaugh and Charles Armstrong, oil well shooters, were blown to atoms here today when 200 quarts of nitroglycerine they were taking to Buckland to shoot an oil well exploded. The men were completely destroyed, as was the automobile in which they were riding. Several houses , nearby were wrecked and two children were severely stunned. Not a trace of either man has been found and only a part of one auTSmobiie axle was picked up. SOCIETY TO MEET The Woman's Aid society of the Trinity Lutheran church will meet Thursday afternoon with Mrs. George Cutter at her home on South Seventh street. All members and friends are invited.

BOSTON REPORTS 110 POOR RELIEF GIVEN

Boston township maintained its reputation today when the trustee turned In a report to the county commissioners that no money was spent vin poor relief during the last quarter and none was needed. The total account was slightly larger than expected, but it was much lower than the first three months of the year. The report, with the exception of Dalton and Webster townships, follows: Wayne, $834.46; Jackson, $316.66; Abington, $11; Clay, $9.60; Washington, $709.04; Harrison. $2; Center, $60.01; Jefferson, $39.75; Perry, $3; New Garden, $20.32; Greene, $22.75; Franklin, $47.85; Boston, nothing.

DRUIDS MEET, SUNDAY Richmond Grove of Druids will hold a special meeting next Sunday evening at which time a class of candidates will be Instructed In the mysteries of the second degree. All the state officers of the organization have accepted the Invitation to be present to witness the work.

The Borneo islands boast a telegraph line constructed of mahogany ebony poles. This Is no doubt the most valuable telegraph line in existence.

WEISBRODT BACK

Henry Weisbrodt, the only Richmond rural mail carrier who attended the convention of rural mail carriers of Indiana at Lafayette, has returned and taken his mail route. Mr. Weisbrodt was pleased with the convention and the number of carriers from all parts of the state who attended.
