Kandyankles Claim City Championship After Winning Streak. By virtue of their victories over all teams played, this season, the "Vies", formerly known as the "Kandyankles" claim the undisputed downtown championship. Saturday morning, the "Vies" found little trouble in running up an overwhelming score against the "Playgrounds." The final score stood 17 to 6, according to the most authentic report. The onslaught was repeated Sunday morning when they defeated the fast St. Mary's team at the athletic park by the score of 17 to 4. , This afternoon they play the Cigar Clerks and are confident of victory by even a larger score. "Hanc" Lancaster and Nicodemus constitute the pitching force of the "Vies" with Vic Newman at the receiving line. This is the second time "Chick" has pitched for the locals, the first time when they played the Indianapolis Reserves and defeated them 6 to 0 several weeks ago. He has been recruited from the Ohio State league and an effort is being made to keep him with the Quakers. He is considered the strongest pitcher that the locals have had this season and he nromisea to deliver the goods next Sunday. Henry Klausing, who is managing the Elmwood team, is mayor of that citv and has taken up managing a baseball team as a pastime. He will accomoanv the team Here next Sunday according to reports received here to day. The Elmwood team Is considered one of the best teams in Kentucky. Saginaw, Michigan, is hot on the trail of "Chick" and the local management will have a hard time keeping him, but he has signed up for next Sunday and no matter what happens after that, it is assured he will be in the box Sunday. George (Jarpentier nas written an article explaining how he is going to beat Gunboat Smith by use of science on the 16th, but ever so many people will refuse to get worked up over this announcement. Umpire Clem, who has been boasting of the small number of players he has I put out of the game, made up for it yesterday, by sending Manager Fred Clarke and nine Pirate players to the ' clubhouse in St. Louis. According to Clem too much coaching is worse than none at all.

KICK Oil PARK DUST
Club Directors Protest Board of Works. to Demand will be made of the board of works by the Commercial club directors that the city take some means of alleviating the dust nuisance in Glen Miller park. The "directors were emphatic when they passed a resolution last night to that effect. The park has ceased -to be a pleasure resort, in the opinion of the directors, and picnics are not strictly according to the advance dope. Eating dust, breathing dust and feeling dutsy is the chief result of a picnic party under present conditions, the business men believe. . The board members specified no means of laying the dust but will meet with the board of works to discuss this matter. Every year, members of j the board of works have discussed oil"s uieu tonus uui every year ecepi one, the plan has been given up because of expense. Cured of Indigestion. Mrs. Sadie P.
