in Few Weeks.

The Sunday school baseball league is now being organized and will probably get under way this or the following Saturday. Just how many and which schools will be represented in the circuit has not been determined. Six teams have entered. It is possible that, at least two others will join before the opening games. The league will be run on the same principles as last year. Only members each week and the schedule will be eligible to play on teams and the age limit will be placed at eighteen. Games will be played two afternoons each week arid the scehdule will be arranged to have the season close about the time of the opening of school. Although no teams have any definite claim to this year's championship, the First Presbyterian and St. Andrew's seem to be first choice in picking out a possible winner. The i'tespy boys took the honor away from the Catholics last season but St. Andrew's is hoping to even the score this time. Both teams have been playing the game for some ti''1 and will have the advantage over teams in having had considerable ...-tice this year.

TWO SEMI-PRO TEAMS PERPLEXED BY JINX

What ails Richmond's leading semipro teams the Senators and Murrays is a Question that is perplexing local followers of the two teams. The Senators and Murrays have been in the field for years and in that time have seldom met defeat at the hands of the fastest teams of the slate and now not to cast any reflections on the winners of Sunday's games, Sullivan's crowd accept a 11-1 walloping at the hands of Hagerstown

and Taggart's forces receive a coat of calcamine from the nine callingl Summettsviile, home. No denying both teams have been the victim of poor luck this spring. The Senators have had to take the field without several of their best men this spring on account of injuries and j

because of players jumping to other pastures and the Murrays have had a jinx camping on their trail ever since tne season opened. Whether the teams aro going to maintain the -records made in other seasons is doubtful just now, as they have already lost as many games during the early part of this year as the

entire last season. Last year Sul-i livan's team lost only two games out j

ot twenty-two played which makes it necessary for every game to be played yet this year to result in victory to equal that string of wins. And the Murrays are in the same boat.

ST. LOUIS, Mo., June 9. Outside of the fact that Armando Marsans, Cincinnati's striking Cuban outfielder, is still in St. Louis and had a talk today with Manager "Miner" Brown, of the St. Louis Federal league club, there were no new developments in his case except the fact that his trunk was ordered shipped to St. Louis, which means, of course that he does not intend to return to Cincinnati, but he may take it from here to Chicago. In an interview given out today the Cuban said that he intended to stay in St. Louis until after the time had expired on the ten-day release notice he has served on the Reds. He says he intends to remain here until after that time and see what the Federals will offer him. In case they cannot see their way clear to make him the right kind of an offer, he says he Intends to quit the game in this country and return to Cuba.

pete in the international games in Berlin, the female entrants from England probably will insist upon some kind of a game in which they can use hatchets.

SOLID STRUCTURE. A couple of out-of-town fans, ho were watching a game at Ebbetts field, Brooklyn, complained bitterly that the management had allowed sone one to erect an uncouth structure just back of third base, which shut off the view. But upon inquiry they found it was only Manager Wilbert Robinson, who weighs a trifle over 300 pounds. EVEN LINKS ARE GREEN. AMUSEMENTS. Marvelous in photography, masterly in dramatic action and wonderful in detail is the Hepworth production of "The Old Curiosity Shop" the story immortalized by Charles Dickens that is the current attraction at the Murray Theater, continuing through Wednesday night. The opening performances yesterday were attended by large audiences of the cultured people of Richmond. The picture play is one that should be seen by every school child in the city. It's educational value is incomparable. The action of the photo drama is such as to interest all lovers of pictures and is one of the greatest offerings that has been presented in motion pictures at this play house. One does not need to have read the story of the "Old Curiosity Shop" to be interested in the film production which tells in complete detail the heart interest of the delightful "Little Nell" and her gambling mad grandfather who seeks to make her rich. The mortgaging of the Old Curiosity Shop, Mrs. Jarley's Wax Works known to nearly everybody, the Punch and Judy show are all seen in the production. There will be matinees dally starting at 2:30 and the evening performances start at 7:15. It requires about one and a half hours for each show. ( Advertlspnitri! i
