ON KENNEY'S BILL Hello Team Brings Four New Men to Battle With Rich mond. Lineup: Hello Boys Richmond. Schlemmer, rf McCann, if Wright, If Merkle, cf Teague, cf Novack, c Holmes, ss Popkins, lb Nunn, p Netter, rf Schimer, 2b Lenniger, 3b Vetter, 3b Cushing, ss Robertson, c V'oltz, 2b Unger, lb S'ordenburg, p Hello Boys, of Cincinnati, is the bill to be offered at Athletic park tomorrow afternoon. This is the same aggregation that managed to nab a victory from Kenney's tribe in a nip and tuck affair that ended 2-1. From reports, the Ohio boys will present a still stronger lineup in tomorrow's game than in first mixup. Four new faces will appear, Keenan and Roach having been benched and Schlemmer and Schimer injected into these positions. Holmes and Vetter, who replace Coombs and Lewis, are the other additions. Richmond's will start the fracas with practically the same linemen that worked last Sunday, with the possible exception of Norm Voltz who will again take up his duties at the keystone sack. ODDS IN POLO MATCHES Menke Prophesies Money Will Change Hands But Wrong Way Maybe. BY FRANK G. MENKE. NEW YORK, June 6. Some of the nicest men who expect to double their vacation money by betting the original allowance at big odds that America will defeat England in the international nolo matches that begin Tues day, are taking a bigger chance than j Steven Brodie took when he cast himI self from the Brooklyn bridge. From all we have gathered to this moment, the English challenging team is just about as good a combination as that which put up such a wonderfully thrilling exhibition here last year, and which, at times, swept the American clean off its feet. On paper, America may seem to have the best chance for victory. And on paper, if you will remember, the Boston Braves seemed to have a lookin for the 1914 pennant, and the Cincinnati Reds and Detroit Tigers seemed doomed for last place in their respective leagues right from the start of the season. Who knows but what the same dope upset may occur in polo? Line-up in Doubt. There still is a ouestion as to just how the Britons will line tip, and that question may not. be answered definitely until a few hours befom the team goes into battle. IJut the. idea seems rather general among polo experts that Captain Leslie St. Clare Cheape will be at No. 1, where he is a star of the first water; that Captain Tomkinson will be at No. 2, Major Barrett, captain of the team, at No. 3, and Captain Vivian N. Lockett at back, with Majors Hunter and Lanowe acting as first substitutes. All in all, it is a mighty formidable combination, and any one who holds it in such cheap regard as to bet heavily against its chances of ultimate victory, either ought to get a Carnegie medal for bravery, or be cucked into the booby house for mental examination. It is quite true that the Britons played poorly at practice games abroad. Almost ; my old outfit that went up against the original combi nation found it easy picking. Also, if you'll remember, practically every dub team that tackled the Athletics during the training season of 1912 succeeded in doling out a noticeable walloping to the Philadelphia outfit. If you care to know what happened after the regular season got under way, you may direct inquiries to the seven other clubs in the American league, or to "Hit-From-Behjnd" McGraw, who resides in New York, 11. S. A. One thing that should be borne in mind by those who think the Britons will prove to be a pie counter proposition for the American champions, is the fact that the combination that will battle the Americans is not the same combination that was beaen so often and so thoroughly in England. There are some new faces in the line-up now, and the owners of those new faces are better polo players than were their predecessors. KNIGHT DENIES JUMP The story that Claude Knight, the Richmond boy who worked with Dick Kenney's tribe of Quakers two weeks ago, had ditched the team without any cause whatever, is branded as bunk by Knight, who denies he was signed by Kenney or had entered any agreement with the Quaker management. Knight is now playing with the Senators. Knight has no grudge against the management of the Richmond club but he does not like the idea that he has been accredited with leaving the team without notice after getting fair treatment. Knight says that he was asked to play with the team because of the absence of a member of the team that day and did so because his team, the Senators, did not have a game. He says that he made no agreement whatever to play with the Kenney team.

PLAY TEN MEN BUT LOSE GAME The A. S. M. Co. office baseball team, which holds a record of no games lost this season (they have played but one) added another victim to their enviable record last night, the International Harvester dropping the 12-11 thriller. The Hoosier bookkeepers' battery, Johnston and dinger, worked in enod form neainst the threshers, while Miller and Dingley proved an equally good pair of servers. The deciding factor, however, was the stellar work of Bert Carr, who was charged with the care of the left garden of the Seeders. Carr proved a veritable Ty Cobb with the willow and in the field. International used ten men in their line-up, nine ball players and the umpire. FEDERALS VOUCH FOR SQUARE DEAL CINCINNATI, June fi. LARCH MON , N. Y., June 6. Clear skies and a strong southeast breeze held today for th fourth trial race between the Resolute and the Vanitie over the 30-mile triangular Long Island Sound course.
The trial today was in the nature j of a special contest for a prize offered by Commodore Frederick C. Fletcher of the Larchmoot Yacht club. Honors were divided between the Resolute and the Vanitie in the first two contests, the third trial on Wednesday being a fiasco, when two of the Vanities' sailors were swept overboard by the waves. Today's weather conditions were said to be about equally advantageous for both boats, but if there wore any advantage it would be on the side of the while-hulled Resolute, which requires less wind than her opponent. The Defiance, the third of the cup defenders, was launched this forenoon at the Jacobs yards. Coney Island. Her rigging has been greatly reduced from the original estimate, and it will be impossible to tell how she will compare with the Vanitie and the Resolute until they meet next Wednesday off Sandy Hook. With all three defenders pitted against each othr, the trials in dep water off Sandy Hook next week will take on added interest. The Defiance can spread nearly nine thousand square feet of canvas. CHICAGO. June 6. Track stars from 25 colleges of the middle west and Pacific coast battled for honors on Stagg Field here this afternoon when the fourteenth annual track and field championships of the Intercollegiate' Conference Athletic association opened. Illinois University was the favorite in the betting with Chicago University a close second, but Stanford and Wisconsin were believed to be in the running and California was better than a forlorn hope. Despite cloudy weather and early morning showers which tended to make the field slightly heavy, a record turned out and it was predicted that a number of old records would fall by the boards before the final event had been run off.
