Mrs. I. W. Davis, of Cheyenne, Wyo., returned home Thursday after visiting Mr. and Mrs. H. Green at their home on East Main street.

Trof- John K. Thompson is leaving soon for Kay, Ind., where he will spend several weeks. Yesterd.iv afternoon at 4 o'clock a recital was given at Lindley hall, Earlham college by pupils of the music department. The program as announced early in the week was given without change. Several of the younper pupils of Miss Gaston, head of the department, appeared at this time and they all played in an excellent manner. Several guests from Richmond enjoyed the affair. This evening auother recital will be given at the college. This will be the last musical of the year. Nearly all the members of the Tsi Iota Xi sorority attended the called meeting held Thursday afternoon at the apartments of Mrs. Robert Crane on South Fourteenth street. Several matters of importance to the membership were considered after which a social hour followed. The next meeting will be held in a fortnight. Among the social functions enjoyed by persons who attended the convention of Pythian Sisters held this week at Xoblosville. was a reception for tne grand and supreme officers, the exemplification of the ballot by Hernice Temple, of Noblesville, and a musical program. The guests were also entertained with a fancy drill by the Kokomo tam. Among the grand officers from this city who attended were Mesdames Lydia T. Hoser, Eliza Meerhoff and Edith Jackson. A full program has been arranged for Alumni day, June 'S.i, which will from a special feature of commencement week at Indiana university. At o'clock a business meeting will be held and James W. FVsler, of Indianapolis will make the address. The address will be followed later in the morning on the campus by Judge Robert Van Atta. of Marion. The Indiana. I'nion will give a reception in the afternoon to old graduates. The dinner and reunion will be hold from f until t! o'clock on the campus. In the evening a play will be produced. A charming social function for Thursday afternoon was the alfresco party held near Lindley hall, Earlham college, by a number of young women, students at the college, who took this means of entertaining in honor of Miss Kha Mills, who is to be married during the summer to Professor Thomas J. Stanley, of the University of Illinois. The tea had been arranged for by a committee composed of members of the senior class and to them is due the success of the function. The hours were spent in a pleasant informal manner. Miss Agnes Johnson of Wisconsin, who was formerly at the college, was a guest of honor, and the young women were glad to have this means afforded them of renewing acquaintance again. Sandwiches, confections and tea were served. Those who enjoyed the function were Misses Elizabeth Conrad, Gladys Bassett, Helen Sparks. Marie Spekenhier, Crystal Wright, Edna Wright, Ruth Hieger, Gladys Parker. Elizabeth Morrison, Sylvia Modesette, Hazel Meek, Alma Madden, Mildred Jones, Dorothy Jones, Eunice Kelsey, Cecil Hill, Vera Hodson, Muriel Shoemaker, Rachael Schuster, Edith Runge, Mary Redmond, Elva Mills, Agnes Johnson, Barbara lieckman, Gertrude Cooper, Doris Coover. The postponed meeting of the Tuesday Rridge club wns held Thursday afteri.oon at the home of Miss Margaret Sedgwick in West Richmond. The game was played at several tables. Mrs. Julian Cares was given the fnvor. After the game the hostess sej-ved a luncheon. Th club will meet asraln next week.
