T?E3 "Demon "Bit THE E WRECKS CARRIAGE Unknown Driver Strikes Buggy and Injures Whitman, a Farm Employe. MILTON, Ind., June 4. Mr. Whitman, who is employed on the farm of Robert Connell, while driving along the roadway a few evenings ago, was struck by an automobile. The horse was hurt, the buggy wrecked and Mr. Whitman severely bruised and hurt. Hhe secured the number of the machine. Mrs. Mary Walker, of north of Dublin, has been making some improvements on her property. MrB. Walter Rea, nee Elsie Caldwell, who recently underwent a surgical operation, Is getting along very well. She is In tha Connersvllle Sanitarium. Orvllle Irvin, of Chicago, was the recent guest of his relatives, Albert Wilson and mother, Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Zeller, MrB. Mary Roark and Dr. and Mrs. C. A. Roark. Mrs. Fannie Atherton Mustin will have a sale of personal property Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harper and Cecil Kcllam, of Noblesville, were guests of .Mr. and Mrs. John Kellam and family, 'Tuesday. Mrs. Harper's daughter. Miss Gladys Perry, who has been the uest of Miss Ruby Kellam, accompanied them home. Mrs. Northern, who was the guest of Mrs. John Speers, this week, was called back to Connersvllle Tuesday, by the death of her nephew, Alden Allison. Mrs. Northern's home is in Richmond, but she has been visiting some times in Connersville. Mr. Allison is a traveling salesmand and died at some place in Ohio. He was aged about 37 and leaves a wife and two children. .Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hurst, of Texas, are spending a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hurst, southeast of town. They will go from here to Michigan to visit her relatives and after returning to Texas a few weeks later, will go to Panama to make their home. Mrs. O. Ferguson was at Connersvllle Wednesday to visit her sisters, Mesdames Caldwell and Smith. Mrs. Bennett entertained at dinner Sunday, Mrs. Frank Hoffman, of Muncic, and Mrs. Rhoda Hunt, in honor of the fourteenth birthday of her granddaughter, Miss Vivian Pennett. Miss Barbara Kern returned home from an extended stay at Harrisburg, Pa., Wednesday. She was accompanied by her niece and companion, Mrs. Martha Stover, also Mrs. Fannie Engle, of Harrisburg. Mrs. Lydia Huddleston. of Cambridge City, spent Wednesday with her sister, Mrs. W. H. Swope. The latter is sick. Charles Davis, George Rothermel and Frank Rothermel, who are members of the Oage tribe, Order of Red Men, at Cambridge City, attended lodge there Tuesday evening. Only One Entirely Satisfactory. Borders was hostess for a meeting of the W. C. T. U. Tuesday afternoon. Among other things it was decided to give the annual temperance picnic at Milton this year, because of the temperance picnic at Jackson park July 4. The union also decided to purchase one copy of the book, "Child Welfare," for which Miss Ruth Leverton is canvassing. The book will be presented to the teacher In the primary department of the Milton schools.
