NEW PARIS, O., May 26. Marcus Marks Is the guest of bis mother at Marion, being forced to take a vacation on account of illness. A large number of local church and Sunday school workers are planning to attend the Preble county Sunday school convention, to be held at New Hope Wednesday. On account of the town being easy of access by traction, a record breaking crowd is anticipated. Dr. and Mrs. E. E. Bevington and daughter, Vera, spent Sunday with relatices in Richmond. the host and hostess.

Mr. and Mrs. Omar Davisson and farmily of Economy, spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bice. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Bice and their guests, together with Mr. and Mrs. Adam Reid and family of C'ampbellstown, and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Arnold and daughter formed a picnic party at Glen Miller, Richmond. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Covin entertained Mr. and Mrs. William Davis and family and Mrs. Shumaker of Hollansburg, Sunday. Mesdames W. L. Hahn, A. J. Murray, and E. R. Clark attended the inspection of the O. E. S. lodge at Dayton, O., Monday night. Messrs. and Mesdames Thomas Bice and their guests, Mr. and Mrs. Omar Davisson of Economy, and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Samuels formed a picnic party Sunday in the Ed Reld woods north of town. Misses Ella Fellows and Nora Wood of Windfall, Ind., now students at Earlham college, were Saturday guests of Mrs. E. A. Bryant, who formerly resided at Windfall. Mrs. E. B. Reid, who has been seriously ill the past month does not improve. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Benner entertained Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johns and Miss Eva Davis of Eaton, and Miss Maude Phillips and Walter Benner of Boston, Ind. A farewell party for Mr. and Mrs. Daniel E. Reid, who leave soon for their home in Hutchinson, Kan., was given Sunday by the members of the Reid family. Dinner was served at the Baker house at noon, and the afternoon was spent at the home of Mrs. Martha Clark. Guests from Campbellstown, Camden and New Madison were present to enjoy the day. N. S. Barton and William Caughey are each nursing a wounded hand, caused by nail scratches. Mrs. W. S. Colvin recently amputated the end of her right index finger on a lawn mower. Mrs. J. H. Davis and daughter spent Tuesday with Mrs. Wood Eliason at Centerville.

EATON, O., May 26. The annual commencement exercises of the Eaton high schools will be held Thursday evening, June 4, in the armory, when a class of eighteen will be graduated. The program has been arranged, and is one of unusual interest. The ad
dress to the class will be delivered by Dr. David W. Dennis, of Earlham College, Richmond, Ind. Members of ' the class are Marie Armstrong, Gertrude Riddinger, Luella Homan, Margaret Kinsey, Ethel Lee, Mary LItchiser, Ethel Poos, Dorothy Stubbs, Louise Wright and Katie McLaughlin, Antoin Alfred, Miller Ayres, Shurley Ayres, Ray Markey, Lester Martz, Hubert Neth, Robert Reyer, and Glen Wysong. Mr. Royer is the class president. The annual baccalaureate sermon to members of the 1914 graduating class of the Eaton high school will be delivered by Rev. George H. Smith next Sunday evening at St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal church.

CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind., May 26. Rev. W. O. StovalL of Richmond, delivered the Baccalaureate address, Sunday evening, at the Baptist church,
taking as his subject "High Ideals," following the line of thought, that nothing is gained without ambition,
and that there must ever be well directed effort, on the part of the student, if he would gain, in bis after life that which Is truest and best. The choir of the church sang and the Cambridge City orchestra played several selections during the service. Rev. Stovall offered the Invocation, and Rev. Hollopeter read the scripture lesson. The church was decorated in red and white, the class colors, while
palms and other plans were prettily arranged, the caps and gowns of tha Seniors lending a picturesque touch to the whole.
