Frank Duning IN TENNIS CONTEST Earlham Appears Stronger Than Other Entrants in I. C. A. L. Meeting. The rumor that the I. C A. L. tennis tournament had been canceled, circulated by an ovor-enthusiastic scribe of luarluam college, is withoiu foundation, and the Quaker representatives, McMinn find Converse, left today for Crowl'orclsville to participate in the annual event to be held this afternoon and tomorrow on the WaLush courts. Just what schools will jo represented in the. meet this year is not known, but it i3 likely that the same schools, Wabash, Rose Poly, Butler, Franklin, DePauw and Karlhum, that took part in the tournament lust year, .will enter the lists. Of the sextet of colleger represented, Karlham seems to have the best chance for the honor. The showing made against Butler in the matches last week ranks the local collegians far above that team, heretofore rated as the strongest in the league. It more than five schools are represented in the meet, the elimination matches will be started this afternoon and will be continued tomorrow morniuk. The finals will be played tomorrow afternoon. The ownera of the Milwaukee team in the American Association will not be allowed to sell the local property to the Federal leagu This was announced at the headquarters of the local club, where it was declared that even had the owners been willing to sell, a provision in the association rules and a heavy bond would prevent -such a step. The Milwaukee owners were offered a big price for the team, it is paid, something upwards of $100,000, btu the Federal league promoters were turned down. Coach Reagan and a squad of eleven men left on their Invasion of DePauw and State Normal colleges this morning to do battle -with the baseball combinations of those schools.
