ENTIRE POPULATION OF TOWNS GREET CARS OFJOOSTERS Neighboring Citizens Promise to Make Morton Lake Their Summer Home After Jordan's Invitation.
UNION CITY, Ind., May 20. (With the Richmond Boosters) Instead of greeting the Richmond Boosters with committees, expressing their welcome, the entire population of towns visited between Richmond and this city turned out this morning when the trumpet call told of the approach. Cheers arose as the pathfinder car carrying the stars and stripes came to a halt in the centor of the towns. Charles Jordan, secretary of the Commercial club, spoke briefly from his machine describing the advantages of Morton lake as a summer resort for this section of the country. Following his invitation to the neighbors to make Morton park their summer home, members of the party mingled with the citizens for a few minutes, distributing literature and extending personal invitations. Get Hearty Welcome. Everywhere the boosters are assured that the people will be only too glad to take advantage of the opportunity offered to spend their vacations near home at a minimum expense. Many reply, "Morton Lake will be our cummer resort." As the Boosters pass from town to town their enthusiasm increases as everywhere the reception indicates the high esteem in which Richmond and Richmond enterprises, both business end pleasure, are held by Wayne county's neighbors. In this city crowds lined the sidewalKs to see the cars that pulled into the main streets about 12:30 o'clock. Beyond the annoyance from roads, especially di;sty for this time of year, the run during the morning was pleasant and without mishap. Carry Advertising. Armed with literature describing the numerous and varied attractions of Morton lake and park, more than a hundred Richmond boosters in twentythree machines pulled away from the Commercial club shortly after 9 o'clock this morning on the second booster trip of the season. The streamers and pennants used on the trip through neighboring counties to the south were placed on the cars to advertise the new park through counties of western Ohio and eastern Indiana. Because Walker Land, who piloted the first excursion was unable to make this trip, Roland Nusbaum, drove the pathfinder car and set the pace along the route previously mapped out. Before stopping at Union City for luncheon, the cars passed through Chester, Whitewater. Bethel, Hollansburg, Arba, Sparta nsburg. Crete. Bartonia. Following lunch the itinerary included Hills Grove, Mt. Vernon, Greenville, Weaver's Station, Hewitt, New Madison, New Paris and Westville. Cars Line Up. At the start the cars lined up as follows: No. 1, Lee R. Nusbaum; No. 2, Robert W. Randall: No. 3, Raymond Nicholson: No. 4, 'Oliver Nusbaum; No. 5, Ray Mather; No. C, Bartel and Rohe; No. 7, George Klein: No. 8. O. E. Fulgham; No. 9, John Clements; No. 10, 1a. E.
